I just logged in (for the first time after the patch since I had ISP problems for three days) and noticed my female asura character is wearing the male version of asura light T3 cultural armor, with big helmet “ears” and shown shoulder piece like the male version. I got extremely disappointed with that. Is that a bug? Did the developers just decide female asura light T3 armor should be the same as the male version? I would like to understand what happened since I’m extremely disappointed with the new look. If this was an intentional change I’d like to receive a refund of the gold I’ve spent to buy this armor set since I never wanted my character to look like it is now, but instead desire the look it had before the patch. I’ve uploaded pictures of my character before and after the change for reference.

Hello,

Thanks a lot for taking the time to report this to us. We really appreciate your thoughts on the matter. We are unable to say if this was a change made in one of the most recent updates as it would have been done so on the Development side of things. We’re sorry if you do not care for the way the armor around the ears display now.

The best way for your feedback or suggestions to reach someone in development is for you to post your ideas within our Official Forums in the Suggestions sub-forum located here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions. Please be sure to read the forum post on how the suggestions sub-forum works: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/How-This-Sub-Forum-Works, and note that using the forums for suggestions is temporary until a better solution for collecting your suggestions can be implemented.

While members of the Development Team are not always able to respond, having suggestions available in a public area helps them gauge the amount of interest for various ideas, and also allows other players to discuss and offer feedback of their own.

Regards,

Steven – Guild Wars Support Team

Err… So he’s sorry I “do not care”? I’m pretty sure I made it very clear that I DO care about how my armor now looks like the male version?

From what I understood the only real meaning of this response is to tell me that Support doesn’t know if this was intended or not and that’s it? Can somebody please help me understand this reply? What should I do or where should I go to to ask for support on either having this fixed or getting my gold back?

That’s a typo I guess. And he’s basically telling you “Sorry I can’t do anything about it. Complain at the forums and hope a DEV pay a visit to your topic and fix/clarify things for you. But they’re really busy so you might be out of luck. Have a good day.”

And that’s what you did!

Now you pray.

That’s propably just a mistake using the wrong word. They prolly wanted to say “not like” instead of “not care for”.

As for the issue itself well did it look differently before? If so write a bug report in the bug section here, otherwise write either in Suggestionforum or if you want to discuss it in the Asuraforum.

Saying you do not care for something isn’t the same as saying you do not care about something. Looks like you misunderstood what he/she was trying to say.

There’s a thread in the Bugs forum:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/What-happened-to-Female-Asura-Light-T3/1540452

“We’re sorry if you do not care for the way the armor around the ears display now.” means just that… He’s sorry that you don’t like the look, but it’s not something that CS can address.

Wow.
That is really incredibly unhelpful. Instead of support actually trying to help you resolve the issue, they tell you to post on the Suggestions forum? To do what – suggest that ANet stop having bugs in their game?
It basically is an “I don’t care” – he shuffled you off to somewhere completely irrelevant, where you won’t get anyone to address this problem.

Did you file this as a bug, or as something else?
Obviously, this shouldn’t have happened in the first place, but if it’s not fixed yet, I would post it on the bugs forum with screenshots, and refile the claim as a bug, because this can’t be anything but that.
They have averred that they are unable to do rollbacks for people regardless of what kind off mess the owner, or ANet, have made of the account, but I would try nevertheless.

But why was OP told to go to the Suggestions forum instead of the Bugs forum? CS should at least be able to direct people to the appropriate area of support.

This pretty much sums it up, dont think it can get explained much better than this. The key word is “for”, which makes it mean something completely different than if it ended with “about”.

I’ve post about this in a couple of places already. I’ve also replied to Support’s response asking for clarification.

Thank you guys for the support. This is so messed up. So many bugs everywhere the team can’t even care about most of them.

What I’m guessing here is the female armor in the game is now also pointing to the male armor model/texture. Something simply got messed up in the build. So yes, it’s nothing that CS can fix and it was probably already in the bug database by the time you posted.

Sadly these kinds of mistakes happen in MMOs, especially on larger patches that include added content. It’s human nature to check the new content closely but not existing content that in theory shouldn’t have been affected.

So unless they announced that Asura now only have unisex cultural armor, it should be fixed, eventually. However since it’s a cosmetic problem, it’s likely not as high of a priority as something that broke gameplay.

Yes it’s annoying because lets face it, it your character and you will be looking at it while playing and now it doesn’t look like what you intended. Sadly you will have to grin and bear it, switch to a temp set of armor or switch to a different character to play for now if the look is too unbearable.

We are heroes. This is what we do!
