I really need help
Ok so the obvious thing here is in all of that you never described what it is you like to do as far as your play style goes. We need to know that before we can help with anything.
sorry about that, i forgot to put that in, i guess my playstyle is i like to keep my distance since when it comes to melee type playstyle, im not very good at it
Ok ranged types what comes to mind is ranger and ele right off the bat. Now something about this game you might want to get use to is your going to most likely get use to a hybrid play style. Eventually mobs are going to be in melee range and you will have to play in a melee mindset. That being said ele is one of the classes with the highest learning curve in the game that i have played. Ranger on the other hand with hits pets is much more forgiving to new players. Or those that realize there skill levels are only average at best. There are other ranged classes such as thief, engineer, mesmer, necro, and to a lesser degree warrior. Avoid guardian as we dont have very good ranged options. Thief ranged is in my eyes when looking at ranger, engineer, and ele is just lacking in my book. Could just be my play style though. Engineer is great for ranged. They have moderate hp good aoe ability and many different skill’s for ranged to change up how it plays. Only class i found with any where near the variety would be ele. Hope this helps give you some idea’s on class. If any of these sound fun might head to there class boards and look threw the help threads there to get some better idea’s.
perhaps you should look into a ranger, they can tame ‘tank’ like pets such as bears to draw aggro for them so they can avoid taking damage themselves and just shoot enemies while you pet takes the damage. they can use short bows, long bows, and throwing axes for ranged attacks.
engineers can use rifles and pistols as well as some awesome weapon kits, like dropping bombs, throwing grenades, weilding a flamethrower. almost all the engineer class is ranged.
warriors can use rifles and longbows and you dont ever have to use melee weapons
and if u want to play a caster like ranged class i would recommend playing guardian and using a staff and scepter/shield combo
if you arent very good at mmos as you say and gw2 is a very active combat styled one i would avoid the light armor professions as they just tend to die more easiely.
I find Ranger to be the simplest profession of them all. Use Shortbow/Longbow, and you’ll never do anything else but pew pew. For your utility skills (on he right of your HP bubble), you can even use all signets, which just sit there passively 90% of the time. Or you can fill it up with Spirits, which you just spawn whenever you can, and which are very helpful in a party (for when you do dungeons).
All you really have to remember is to switch out your pets before they die in longer fights.
If you don’t know what stats to spec and gear for, aim for Vitality and Power. You really can’t go wrong with that, no matter your profession. (Alternatively, if you can’t find any gear with that, toughness or precision.)
And don’t be afraid to just try out whatever traits sound interesting to you as you level up… each time you learn a new trait book (aka at lvl 10, lvl 40 and lvl 60) all your trait points are reset for free, so you can change things around if they didn’t work out for you. Aside from those opportunities, resetting your trait points costs only a little silver, and you can also change around those 10/20/30 point traits at any time for free. So just go ahead and try things out.
