Hello players of Guild Wars 2!

The last time I played the game was way back when GW2 first got released. I almost reached max level on one character, which I think was a Ranger. At the time I had to stop playing due to the lack of time and playing other games and kinda just lost track and never picked up GW2 again.

Its no doubt a silly question but has much changed since the release of the base game? If/when I do start playing again I will be creating a new character and starting over because I’m sure I’ve forgotten everything or its all changed! At the moment I don’t own the expansion but might purchase that if I get back into the game and enjoy it.

How is the crafting now? I can remember doing a fair bit of gathering to craft items etc. My new character will be a ranged one. I really enjoy playing this type!

then you missed.. eeh.. fractals.. gearing and traiting overhauls.. 4 years of seasonal events, including living story, expansion, etc……

eeeh… I don’t even know where to begin.. but yea.. a lot.. A LOT.. has changed..

But if you only played 1 day.. why suddenly coming back now?

Wow, yes a lot will have changed, some of it multiple times.

One bit of advice: Starting a new character is a good idea and will help you familiarise yourself with the game again but don’t delete your existing one, and log into them at least once because they’ll have a 4 birthday gifts to pick up and may have stuff in their inventory you’ll want to keep. Also hold onto them until you’ve used up all your other character slots, just in case you decide you want to play them (and because they’ll have a 5th birthday gift coming in August).

Also be aware there aren’t any dedicated ranged professions. They all have access to both ranged and melee weapons. So you can pick any profession for your new character but bear in mind you won’t always be able to stay at range, sometimes you’ll be required to move in close to the enemy, either because it’s just more effective or because there simply isn’t enough room to stay back.

Get to Rata Sum and go in Super Adventure Box like right now befor eit leaves… if u like platformers/Jumping PUzzles.
