I’m on Gunnar’s Hold EU i have played through now to lvl 61 nearly all alone, occasionally see someone else and team up, but it is far and few, doing group events are impossible as you can’t do them alone, so as i play through i am missing all those group events, that can’t be right surely, the maps are forever alone sparkfly fen, i’m quite happy to travel or just tag along some where else, weeps.

I went up here 3 times so i could do the champ, i got the loot from the chest near the champ the first time, but not enough of us to kill. We finally had enough ppl the third time.

there are a few from Gunnar’s Hold in our group, who I’m sure would like to run with you and get those group events (or anything else), why not add your name to the list of awesome people over at the union?

A lot depends on your playing times. Some of the mid-level maps on Gunnar’s can seem empty during non-peak hours. Also, as you move into the higher level maps, you will see a lot more players doing events, waiting for dragons, farming mats, and the like.

Also, there are plenty of guilds on Gunnar’s Hold, with large memberships. Check out the one in my sig, if you are over 30 .. Otherwise, just google the server for a full list of the registered guilds.

Edit: Just wanted to add that if you whisper me in game, and I am on-line, I will join you for map exploration and DE’s …

Deffy’s already tried are corner. You’re welcome to try again as we have a large influx of awesome everyday.

We have quite a few Gunnar’s but most of our EU pop are on late evenings. If you’re looking for a social, chatty and family type atmosphere try Union again. If you’re looking for a buddy system it is more suited towards you.

If you are looking for VERY active gaming with others on your server you are better off with the likes of MARA or a guild exclusively on GH. If that is the case Union is not for you.

Already in the union really nice bunch of ppl but not seen anyone on in Gunnar’s Hold, well i’m defiantly on in the late evening, i’m going to try this afternoon instead, my day is hectic as i’m a single parent with my youngest being 2 1/2 years, he has just started nursery, i have a horse (do natural horsemanship) so that is another time hole :p i do core workout in the mornings then cardio in the afternoons so yeah i workout 2hrs most days, but can take time out, i put in a 16 hrs into the LS event over that weekend, but i am a serious noob so need educating in MMO’s, i wouldn’t like to have to leave the union as they make me smile, but would like others to play with whilst lvling, because i am missing group events, MARA i would be interested in, like i said i will tag along with what others are doing i don’t want to put anyone out in that way.

Okay I see. In Union if you want to pair up with people just ask in Guild Chat. If you do want a more reliable buddy system look for something like MARA. Just ask in Union, everybody’s up for the regular dungeon run doing what we can together atm.

Until the Guesting system is up those who’d like to help can’t atm. Ask members like Lexy in Union as she enjoys map exploration. Atm we normally have dungeon events on weekends. Just ask if you want to join in, the Gunnar’s atm are running dungeons.

In Union we really don’t mind if you don’t represent all the time. Just drop in whenever you feel like.

So feel free to find a group to complete a less lonely map completion. When Guesting is up Union will try to make you less lonely!

Hahaha MARA very unfriendly guild, a few are ok, i got there true behaviour of that guild when i told them that i’d never been in wvw and i said i was a total noob, was led in and then left alone to die, got separated hadn’t a clue what to do a couple of kind souls from other guilds let me tag their tails, no invites to any group from mara guild, so how am i suppose to find them, disgusting and they’re running a 3 day event in wvw, it gets worse when i try to explain myself in guild chat why i’m not happy, threaten by officer barbie if i type one more word, so i said that isn’t friendly either, then she kicked me, she just didn’t like the fact i do semi nudes for art (never done it for money) there guild will be running naked in game though (see i’d do that for real). So apparently saying anything like this was totally banish-able, i do have a sense of humour but they don’t.

The other officer frog when i had been in ts after doing tixx he joined in chat, now their guild knew i had a toddler as when i joined them i told them so, he was like “is that a child i hear” it was like shock horror to him, he then went on to lecture me he was never having children, found this insulting and funny both at the same time, yes i do have cans and have ts set up push to speak, so never went back on ts with them, i need that like i need a hole in the head.

So any guy who would like to mentor me in game would be welcome lvl 80 human warrior rifle/ hammer, i’m easy on the ear and been told i’m very easy on the eyes depending who’s eyes i suppose, as i’ve said before i build my own gaming rigs, into astrophysics, anime fullmetal alchemist cowboy bebop, home cinema, speakers, amps, all scifi, family guy southpark, giger, frank frazetta, then there is natural horsemanship, so maybe whilst learning it wont be to boring, i’m also an infp. http://www.personalitypage.com/INFP.html

You really are having a lol of griefing directed at you!
I genuinely am pretty sorry and appalled by what you mentioned.

I myself run a control set up and would try to help, however with my very casual game time won’t be the consistent patient mentor you would need. I would give up my Sat dungeon time if you are interested however sessions will only be weekly. This also won’t solve your thing of wanting a consistent exploring buddy either.

Dang it want guesting in so badly. I’d be all over this sort of stuff at least trying to help.

I think I know you were subjected to as I ’ve been through similar things like that.

Being a parent is an amazing thing, I’m proud of mine that they’ve given me so much that they never had as kids. (My family used to scrape by but my Dad used his brain to get a better life for us when he was a kid. Get a good job and get out of there.)

People that talk Frak about people with children or whatever aren’t fit for parenting anyway.

People should be judged by actions and what defines them. Not by what they are, and I know you’re a pretty great person.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience with MARA. I joined a month ago, and it has been very positive, found lots of friendly people to do the rich ori runs, dungeons, and the like.

WvW is not my thing, I only go in there to map. I did do some of the MARA weekend event on Thurs, and the people on TS were friendly, but you need to go with the flow and try to stay alive. No one is going to hold your hand …

Btw, I have you in my contacts and saw you were online around 2 weeks ago so I whispered you to see you wanted to party up. Perhaps you were away from the game at the time, but you didn’t respond. I didn’t try again, so first impressions works both ways …

If you want some company on Gunnar’s Hold, add me to your contacts and whisper or mail me when you want. I have all of PvE mapped, so can give you some help, and don’t mind going back into lower level maps.

Sorry to hear you’ve had trouble finding people to play with. You’re more than welcome to party up with my sons and I who play on Gunnar’s Hold. We’re in the game most evenings, and I play some daytimes in the week after night shifts. It’s quite common for me to be playing with my two-year old watching Fireman Sam on the laptop next to me, and my five year old is very proud to have his warrior up to level 13 now.

Between us we have quite a few alts at all stages of levelling, and mostly do PvE and a little bit of extremely casual WvW for fun. Trying to get the boys geared up for story mode dungeons at the moment. Anyway, feel free to add me and say ‘hi’ when I’m online, and if what we’re doing suits you you’d be welcome to join us.

As MARA is a mature guild where the only requirement to join is the players age, which is 30 years, we are use to people having kids of all ages, kids and other rl requirement are the foundation of our laid back play style and why MARA was created in the first place. We have close to 1000 members and had about 1300 members in GW1 when the game was as it’s peak, so we must be doing something right and game officers and TS admins are long standing trusted members.
One of the things we do not tolerate is slandering of other members in gc, mc, sc or other public or semi public chat channels, after 2 warnings people will they will be kicked from the guild.
Posting obscene pictures and continuing slandering members on the forum will lead to a ban from the guild and the forums.
I don’t think these rules are much different from many other guilds.

I was in Underworld EU and it was pretty empty so I moved to US Tarnished Coast and there are plenty more people around, often in unexpected places. Finding people to play with is another story though…

That LFG website is just people wanting to do dungeons, there’s nothing there for people wanting to team up for exploring, doing skill points, etc.
