I want the skin, not the legendary (Eternity)
You can’t do that… you have to account bind Eternity to unlock the skin.
You can always make an ascended GS for whichever toon doesn’t have the legendary and transmute it to whatever appearance you want.
That’s the entire purpose of Eternity…
It’s an ultra luxury item like owning a ball signed by Babe Ruth. No need for it at all.
Edit: I just googled it and Babe Ruth balls actually aren’t that expensive, it appears they’re in the 50k+ range. Let’s change the analogy to a Van Gogh painting.
Yep, you can’t do it that way. Have to account bound the legendary to get the skin. It sucks to use two legendaries to forge Eternity, but that’s why Eternity is worth so much.
Is there a reason you need to keep the stat switching capabilities of a legendary? You can always use ascended weapons. I find that while it is convenient, I stay with either assassin or berserker stats on my greatsword 99% of the time.
The only way to unlock the Eternity skin is to bind it to your account, and then of course you can’t send it to anyone or sell it.
I think your best bet is to make Eternity and then make another couple of ascended greatswords (or even use exotic if you’re not worried about the stats) and use the Wardrobe to put the Eternity skin onto them.
They’ll look the same, have all the same effects and if you use ascended they’ll have the same stats. The only thing they won’t have is the ability to change the stats. And like other people I’m not convinced you’ll use that a lot, especially if each one is specific to a character.
I’m expecting to use the stat switching on my Bifrost when I get it, but only because passing it around and changing the stats will be cheaper and easier than making a second ascended staff for my ranger to use once every couple of weeks in the raid.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”

It’s closer to selling two Van Goghs to buy one Picasso and commissioning two near-perfect copies of the Van Goghs to also display. The owner is the only one who knows for sure that there’s only one legendary on the account
Haha, good analogy Illconceived. Basically lots of money tossed around on aesthetics with no utilitarian purpose.

Indeed.
I know some folks who sold twlight and sunrise both to buy eternity and get all the unlocks and a much smaller group who made both and refuse to sell. The first group prefers having the three skins; the second group prefers having two stat-swappable greatswords.
My opinion: all of them are lucky they can afford to indulge their preferences.
