Im obsessed with the idea of a chronomancer in gw2 (i think they are just a perfect profession for this game), but sadly this will most likely never happen…. My question is which class should i pick that is most similar to a Chronomancer. Im tied between a mesmer and a gaurdian. The mesmer’s play style fits a chronomancer but i dont think the staff skills are very good. I prefer a gaurdian because of the awesome cool blue color scheem that comes with it (blue seems to go with time)

Mesmer playstyle definitely lends itself towards chronomancer. Though really your should pick a class based on its own merits, no class will nicely achieve your desired effect and you will constantly be bothered by its inaccuracies if you attempt it.

Something else to consider is that mesmers where light armor while guardians wear heavy, which has a large effect on appearance.

Final note: The mesmer staff with a build focused around making clones is one of the strongest solo/leveling builds in the game. It can solo a lot of champions that others can’t.

Mesmer would be closer to what you want with a chronomancer, I think.

It has a lot of traits and weapons that cripple and chill enemies (kinda like slowing down time I guess) and give swiftness to allies (speeding up time), plus you could role play that the whole illusions thing is actually time displaces versions of yourself, plus the most popular mesmer elite is all about speeding up time in a specific area (Time Warp).

That’s primarily a personal thing. I think Bifrost looks ridiculous on every single one of my staff-using characters, but on someone else’s character, it’s stunning.

If you can give us pointers on what sort of weapon you’re looking for, though (magical, realistic, bright, dark), we might be able to suggest a few.
