If you have a Nvidia graphics card.
Update to the latest driver and you will be pleased. Just thought I would share.
OOOOOO
I saw that update last night, but generally those updates don’t apply to my card so I generally ignore them. I have Nvidia GEforce 9800M GS. I’ll check it out. Thanks!!

I use a GeForce 640, and don’t update it nearly as much as I should. I guess now is that time…
I have a GTX 750 Ti and I didn’t really notice any significant change in GW2 performance… Was there supposed to be?
Ok pre update: idle in LA at forge and Rata Sum on lowest settings, ~21 FPS
post update: same locations, on medium settings ~19 FPS.
I don’t know if that was the driver, or that my machine can actually handle medium settings,, but a ~2FPS loss is acceptable for me otherwise I didnt notice any major changes graphically with the driver update. Also it was driver update 340.5 I think.

i dont think the 340.52 driver made any changed to game performance, was just a driver update to work with nvidias new shield tablet. right?

Well, in the release notes (which you do have to dig to find) it states that it includes “key DirectX optimizations which result in reduced game-loading times and
significant performance increases across a wide variety of games”
I haven’t played any other games yet because I’ve been busy, but GW2 doesn’t show any improvement for me.
I noticed a SLIGHT improvement in GW2 performance, but there are other explanations for that (lower population, no nearby large scale combat, etc). I’d be loathe to claim updated drivers improved much, especially considering the bulk of GW2’s bottleneck is in the CPU.
Hmm…I haven’t checked, do these apply to a GTS 450 also?
(Yes I need to upgrade it soon, I know)
My performance changed drastically in the sand storm, but not much anywhere else.
I have Nvidia 770 and have it updated but there wasn’t any improvement with Guild Wars.

I noticed an fps drop with my 770
No love for Voodoo cards, sniff!
the only thing I noticed was the screen seems darker.
Nvidia always gives me tons of headache upgrading drivers.
I will never buy their card again.
All I’ve noticed so far was longer loading screens.

Hmm. I noticed the same thing, thought it was my internet being annoying.
Much shorter loading times for me and slightly improved in game performance on higher settings. Jonny is happy.

Agreed. Im liking this update

As usual:
If you are happy with how the game works as is (and your computer in general and other games), suffer no real problems… dont upgrade your drivers. Its always been a case of win some loose some. The newer the card (and more high end), the more likely it is to be an improvement overall.
But its nice to know that a new version is available.
I have a GT 630M does it apply to this card?
