Does anyone know of a weapon that lights up the area around you (like the FDS) that an elementalist can use? Daggers, foci, staves, and scepters only. Been prowling the wiki and haven’t found any so far.
I’d love to be able to run those dark JPs without spamming fireball…

Can’t really think of any dark JP besides Weyandt’s Revenge and the one in Eternal Battlegrounds. They both provide a torch. Although for Weyandt’s Revenge I just use the targetting circle for Meteor Shower. That works for any class with a “big” AoE.
There’s a consumable item called Effigy Fragment that will server your purpose. It gives you a torch that will light up the area around you and it’ll stay until you sheath it.

No Foci that I know of gives off light. I had hoped The Anomaly did, but sadly it does not.
For Staff? The Crossing gives off a TINY radius of light, so tiny in fact its pointless for trying to illuminate the area. So tiny, that it doesn’t even illumination your feet when held normally at rest (and barely illuminates a tiny portion of ground when moving as the lantern is closer to the ground). Basically, useless for actually navigating in the dark.
Mad Memoires: Complete Edition from Halloween on the other hand Illuminates like a torch. This back item is great to have on hand to illuminate dark areas in JPs. In fact, I’m thinking of trashing the Ascended stats, which I had transmuted my Mad Memories: Complete Edition onto, to a Toymaker’s Bag (Account Bound was it?) instead so I can just switch it between toons freely for dark JPs.

I know of one scepter that has a blue flame, but I don’t know if it lights up the surroundings. Sold by Foward Scout Greta. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Forward_Scout_Greta
You could buy it for 280 karma and if it works, just use it for that.
Edit: a guildie had one and we checked. It does not light up the area.
That is my go to for light.
