Alright so I know ive been across the game forums but I think im getting allot of biased info but im just having a hek of a time deciding on a class, first thing you should probably know is that im saving elementalist for last since its its a magic based class with lots of skills to play with, so theres a good chance I wont enjoy anything else after that.
I leveled a guardian to level 80 because I love the dps/support hybrid characters, but my problem with the class is how slow the weapons feel themselves and to be honest traps dont sound appealing to me, I like the bow aspect but not really the traps, its possible I may enjoy it but I cannot get past the fact I only like 2 weapons on this class.
I am trying a thief and revenant at the moment, im not really feeling revenant so far, I cannot explain it but it feels kind of hollow, I usually love classes that can be a role switcher like the druid from wow just as an example but im more of an eq2 vet then wow vet, anyways hes only past 20 so far, also id thought it would be more flashy but its very subtle so far, also people say it ends up being an auto attack class later on.
Thief seems fun, I loved my monk from everquest 2 but I have a feeling daredevil wont really get me anything like my monk, I usually like a mix of range and melee but thieves seem to be all about stabby stabby and dodges so far, plus I prefer having a bit more support for my groups, I dont really play pure dps classes. I have never been fond of rogue classes in mmorpgs unless its like a magic kind of rogue type, I also hear its another aa class later on as well with dodges roll thrown in.
Ranger, hmmmm I did try one a while back and really disliked longbow, the rest seemed kind of cool, I really like the shortbow though, druid seems kind of appealing but I prefer having the option to be a dps druid and not just a healing druid, plus I hear rangers have the most problems right now.
Engineers dont appeal to me right now, I prefer some form of magic in my classes to be honest, I may end up with one eventually.

Mesmer, I actually have one and they seem interesting, but I dont really feel its what im looking for, ill probably be in the mood to play a mostly utility class eventually just not right now.
Necromancer, im not a big fan of being pure condition dps, also the pets are ugly to me, I dont mind darker pets but no just no.
Well I think I covered all my thoughts on the classes, feel free to correct me about anything I may be wrong about, I may just give up and go elementalist if I cant find anything else to play. Thanks all!
