This may be some sort of stupid question, but I was wondering if there is a “barber” or equivalent in-game?

I’ve been away for a year and a half, and was going over the “Show your” forums, and noticed one guy saying he had celebrated something or other with a new hairstyle.
And it got me to wondering about this…

There is a “Self-Style Hair Kit” and “Total Makeover Kit” in the gem store.

They also contain hair styles and colors that aren’t available at character creation time.

The Total Makeover Kit have all of this and includes new eye colors as well as full access to all character creation controls including gender. Only thing you can’t change is race.

I would like an NPC that allows you to check out different looks, without having to have a makeover kit in inventory.

Indeed, an NPC such as Anatomical Engineer Lyle who has the option to let you make changes to your char as a preview would be great. They could even have the option to buy and use makeover changes from him. I used to take my chars to him all the time to try out new looks.

Yes, that was a great feature in GW1 — arguably, a good marketing tool for the service, in much the same way that the wardrobe has been for skins and that the locked dye option has been for dyes.

Note that you are given a Total Makeover Kit every 5,000 achievement points, if you do not wish to buy one.

A preview NPC would be amazing.
