Input Device (KB, mouse, others) for PvP
I went threw this my self. For the mouse, i went for the Logitech G600 cuz it’s big for my palm of my hand. Others like smaller but i like to feel thats i’m grabbing on to something sturdy & large instead if small & delicate.
For the keyboard you can go for something also in the logitech as well. But i opted for a game pad with thumb joy stick. The G13. All programable & really cool look to.
If i was you, i would do what i did. Youtube reviews. theres plenty.
I like to just keep it clean.
I use a CM Storm Spawn mouse. It’s a small mouse which fits my grip (fingertip grip; basically only your finger tips are touching the mouse, palm of your hand is on the mouse mat).
I used a Razer Naga Hex before, which is a sister of the Naga with the many buttons on the side. The hex has 6 buttons on the side, but I never really felt better using those. The grip I use really doesn’t work well with many side buttons as you basically lose control. So back to simply 2 side buttons for me.
Keyboard is a CM Storm Quickfire TK. Mostly coincidence that it’s the same brand.
I’m a big fan of mechanical keyboards, they react a lot better to input compared to the rubber dome ones. Frankly though for a game like GW2 you don’t really need it; but I play a lot of counterstrike.
My opinion. Logitech is solid. Steelseries is quite OK as well, although much like Razor it likes tossing a lot of big terms and marketing tricks (like high DPI on mice, which is mostly useless) at stuff while they use cheap plastic components.
I’m using a CM Storm Quickfire XT MX Brown with a Sharkk wired gaming mouse. Definitely buy a quality mechanical keyboard, they’re fantastic investments. If you want Logitech get a G710 or a G710+, or ask around on /r/mechanicalkeyboards with your budget if you’d be interested in seeing what you can get in your price range. In general if you want a tenkeyless board a Quickfire Rapid is a good buy these days (~$80 on Amazon) and I’m not too sure if you want a fullsize.
For a mouse, just get what’s comfortable. A couple of extra buttons are nice to have but a G600/full-keypad mouse is unnecessary. Whatever you do, don’t buy Razer; their quality is hugely lacking, especially given the premium price. The same goes for their keyboards, honestly.

I use a mad catz R.A.T. 3. With the side 2 buttons set to dodge and target. My keyboard is a Sitech cyborg keyboard. I don’t, use any of the macro keys on the board at all for GW2, no point.

Mouse – G700. Nothing special there really.
Keyboard – Avant Stellar (you’d need to look this one up). Clone of the original Northgate Omnikey Ultra (which you’ll probably have a better time looking up). I have the 114 key version (two sets of Function keys), but I’m also a programmer/typist before anything else. 100% rock solid keys and keyboard (I’ve had mine for over 10 years now), so long as you can endure the clicks.
I like to view MMOs through the lazy eye of a Systems Admin, and the critical eye of a
Project Manager. You’ve been warned. ;-)
