Inventory Problems!
1) I just went and rolled all my alts so that they can pick up all their gear.
2) Was from the last Living World event. Not sure how long it will last, but I’m hoping we can vendor the tickets for some money after it’s over.
3) No cap.
4) As long as you keep one char slot open, you could always remake the class, and then transfer the appearence onto a white/blue item for use on another character.
5) Pick up a crafting profession to make some 8 slot bags for your characters.
Thanks Solkard!
I have my alts rolled, I just don’t want to completely fill their inventories with stuff they can’t use yet either. But I think I will get rid of the blues for the professions I won’t be rolling yet in the meantime, which should help.
My Elem is a Tailor, did it just for the bags haha. Just working on farming more Jute to make more 8-slotters.
And thank you for the tip on remaking a profession and using transmute to get starter gear. I did that for a couple of the starting profession faces/masks, not sure why I forgot I can just do that later too.
Quick question on transmute: I know it takes 2 items and you choose between the stats and skin, then it makes a new third item…right? Do you lose either of the original 2 items?
both of them, if you want to get technical about it. they are destroyed so that the new one is made

1) There’s not really any reason to keep spare blues or greens. Maybe the odd piece if you find something with perfect stats that’s at or close to the characters current level but this game is pretty forgiving when it comes to stats while levelling so you don’t need a perfect set-up and you’ll get a lot of blues and greens.
If they’re worth more on the TP (after fees) sell them that way, if not either sell them to a merchant or salvage them for the materials.
2) The Queens Gauntlet is part of the current Living Story event. It’s a ‘tournament’ where you fight a series of NPCs who each have special mechanics and need certain techniques to beat them. But it’s only up until the patch tomorrow and you need to finish the story arc to gain access so you probably won’t have time. But save the tokens for a few days just in case you can sell them. (That happened last month – after the end of the event the tokens became sellable, no idea if it’ll happen again but I’d wait and see.)
3) No cap. I recommend saving it until you’re level 80 because one of the quickest and easiest way to get exotic gear is to buy it with karma from the vendors at the temples in Orr, but you need the karma to do it.
4) This doesn’t apply to the whole outfit, only certain pieces. I recommend checking the wiki to find out which ones are worth saving and then thinking about whether you want to keep them.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Awesome, thanks Danikat!
Cleaning out my blues now unless they are a big upgrade for a character I have made that they can wear very soon, salvaging the rest!
Gonna hold onto the ticket stack until event ends, as suggested by you both.
Uh if you haven’t salvaged all those blues and greens yet you might as well wait until after tomorrows patch so you could get some Essences of Luck out of them at the same time.

Oh wow, thank you! I had no clue a patch was coming tomorrow with that change. I still have plenty of blues and greens left to salvage tomorrow, still farming Champions.
Just realized something about remaking a new character to transmute starter stuff over – I don’t know how transmute fully works yet, but would you need to do the transmute ON the character it’s soulbound to? I.e. the level 2? Transmute the piece to a non-bound piece then send that to the character you want it on?

if something’s soulbound, then only that character can pull it out, but maybe can transmute from storage?
Use the cheap/free (yellow) transmute stones that you get from map completion, and convert the appearance onto white-level gear.
It then becomes account-bound.
I’m not sure if you need to omit any upgrade you might have added (eg stones/mark/runes), but it’s probably safer to leave them out.
NOTE: as of the last update, the preview window on transmuted things is bugged.
Hopefully will be fixed today – just wasted a few gold on some items for transmuting thinking that it didn’t work somehow.

You can not transmute from storage. Just tried it.
Neither starter gear nor white/blues have inherent upgrades so the upgrades shouldn’t matter either. You can’t omit upgrades since you have to select everything before it lets you transmute.

Alrighty, thanks guys!
