Been trying for this one now

Made an entire run from start npc to the already visible chest with no bomb: got treasure, no unlock

Made an entire run with bomb from start npc to alrady visible chest, set the bomb in front and it exploded: got treasure , no unlock.

I couldn’t care less about the loot but I want that darned unlock – so am I missing something or is it bugging?

Are you doing the run legitimately or teleporting/ runnning over walls that are not part of the intended puzzle/ skipping parts?

jump around the first wall after getting bomb. drop down on broken wall, leap across and jump through gap. Then run up the ledge, jump over to nests, follow them up and turn left up and around – jump to free standing rock…after that jump across to the big platform and then jump again and again and again till you can jump across to the ledge by the east wall…follow that up to the stairs and keep going up till the path turns to a steep stair heading out over the open area – jump down on cross road bridge and turn left – place boom by visible chest and back away….boom!

did that with the bomb, and without the bomb – no unlock – only thing I used was heals and Air#4 speed boost from staff – no teleports, jump skills or eggs or anything

The chest isn’t part of the jumping puzzle (achievement at least). You should get the achievement before you get to the chest if you did it ‘right’. When you get to the part where all you have to do is run up to the chest, it should register the achievement for you.

That is all true but it IS possible to run all the way up to the chest without triggering the achievement. This happened when I was doing this with a friend. I ran ahead while he was carrying the bomb. He didn’t get the achievement until he hopped around the area where it triggered for me. They should really make those trigger areas bigger and/or closer to the chest in some of these puzzles.

The area that triggered it for me is on the left side of the rock that the chest is sitting on. I am pretty sure that is also the only side that you can use to climb to the chest. Just run around the end area and you should be able to trigger the achievement.

Yeah you’re duping the puzzle, try it legit first. If that still doesn’t work, just do some of the stuff the other guys suggested and see if it helps. FYI you do not need to carry the bomb to get the achievement, only to open the chest, and (at least it used to be) you didn’t have to do the entire puzzle just to get the chest, but things may have changed.

How am I duping it? – I think I’ve followed guides to the correct way, and don’t use any porting/jumping stuff…only two palces I can see that might be it are the first wall jump-around and breach jump through…but afaik that is the proper way to proceed?

Any hints at what it is I’m messing it up with is greatly appriciated…still no luck in getting this achievement…will have to try another character as well just to make sure.

Hahaha, that first chest is like only part of the way done I can see why you were confused now.

As for finding that video, head to the GW2 wiki and search for the jumping puzzle. There are pages for each of the jumping puzzles to help you figure out what is going wrong, if anything at all.

Yeah, sounds like you found it. I had the same moment of confusion. There’s a chest you can get without the bomb, which I always think of as a consolation prize. The way to the official end of the puzzle is far from clear, though! That whole puzzle is one where it takes a lot of experimentation to figure out where you’re meant to go, and the end (with the achievement) is in an odd place off to the side.
