Hello, I play a warrior so this question is from a warrior perspective but since I suspect it is an issue relevant to all the other classes as well I posted it here instead of the warrior forums.

I just applied two superior sigil of accuracy, which apply 5% crit chance each, one to my shield and one to my axe. However, my stats still say that my crit chance is 49%, which is what I had without boons before I applied the sigils (the upgrade slots where empty then).

As far as I know there is no cap for crit chance in guild wars 2, neither soft or hard. I’ve managed to get around 89% with other gear and fury. So does the fact that the 10% additional crit from my new sigils doesn’t appear in my stats mean that the displayed crit chance is lower than my effective crit chance, or does it mean that I’ve wasted several gold on bugged sigils?

I also noticed that the Hightened Focus trait (number V in discipline) which should increase my crit chance by 9% when I have full adrenaline, but this also doesn’t display.

So it clearly seems to me as if it’s the stats display that is bugged, but I just wanted to ask here to be sure and to get some clarification. Maybe there is something else to it I don’t understand?

The sigil of accuracy effect doesn’t show on your character stats (neither is +crit chance from certain traits)

Also, 2 sigils of accuracy don’t stack… you only get +5%

Thanks for the answers. Could it possibly be that the sigils increase the effective critical chance but only on the attacks performed by the weapon in which it is inserted, and therefore does not display as a character stat? For example, if I put the 5% crit chance sigil into my offhand, only attacks with my offhand would benefit from it, not the damage from my utilities, main hand and trait.

usually yes the sigil in the offhand would be a critical chance for that weapon attack from that hand if you get me. There are exceptions though.

Tis not what they can do for you
Tis only what you can do for all

This is completely incorrect. The wiki CLEARLY states that a MH sigil effects both MH and OH attacks and an OH sigil effects both MH and OH attacks. Sigil placement is completely irrelevant.

To the OP: rune stats don’t display on the character panel as well, or they didn’t a few months ago at least. You ARE getting the benefit, although only 5% instead of 10% because they don’t stack

80 Guardian. 80 Warrior. 80 Thief. 80 Engineer. 80 Necromancer. 80 Ranger.

where the hell does ppl get this from, as stated it says clearly how wrong it is on wiki and you can go to heart of the mist put a earth sigil on your offhand there, and try hit the traing golems some times with 1 2 or 3 (not 3 if your thief though as that uses both hands) and you will see it appling bleed

From my experience with sigil of fire it work for any dmg attack that have critical chance as long as you have the weapon with it currently equipped.

That means not only for MH and OH weapons but also on utility skills that do dmg or your downed abilities. If you have trait that apply dmg on dodge(warrior 5 strengh minor trait for example) it can also trigger the sigil…

that +5% critical chance propably also apply to all attacks.
