Is everyone done with Guild Wars 2?
Not everyone, and no not done yet. Good luck with your next game.
I certainly think you should leave if you’re not having fun playing a game. I’m sure a lot of people feel that way. I’m sure a lot of people don’t.
What I don’t understand is why people are so insecure they can’t just make up their own minds about whether a game is fun or not.
Everyone has been hating on ANet recently, but for good reason. My question is, is it worth playing Guild Wars anymore. With no new content, Halloween was a disapointment, and there seems to be no content that people actually like in the game anymore
. Ive been thinking of leaving the game. I assume most other people are to right?
Ahem
It’s also worth pointing out that some people use claims of quitting the game as an attention-getting tactic, when in fact they are still quite active.
Nope.
Still cautiously optimistic. and even if nothing changes, I’ll still log for dailys/events/LS.
Feel free to send me your gold and other goodies since, you know, you won;t want them anymore
not done,
Guild is getting bigger, Still one of the Oldest guilds on server. And largest RP guild in game. ( or so I have been told. )
We are all Still having fun….
uhhh
Sorry???
I can’t speak for everyone, but i’m on a break right now and strongly considering never logging in again.
Between the gamble for the 2012 Halloweed skins, Gemgate, and Gaile Gray’s revelation that ANet is catering to this new, unheard from “new player” demographic, instead of ALL players…well, i’m not supporting bad decision after bad decision, after bad decision.
I am having fun. Its just I like many are hungry for new content

I agree, ANet has been stupid lately
Quit about 3-4 months ago and I am happy I did, i read and write in the forums often and it seems getting worse and worse. This game is one of the biggest disappointment in my gaming career – on many level. But at the end it is the management that fails. I feel sorry for the talented devs and writers. It’s a shame what this company had become and I feel sorry – I now go and drown in a sea of tears of nostalgia in Old Ascalon and Shing Jea island…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
“Everyone” have been done with Guild Wars 2 since before it was released according to some people.
Based on the actual game itself though there are loads and loads of people still playing it.

No, not everyone is done with it.
I’m pretty much half-way done. I may pop in a few days every fortnight but that’s it. But that’s just me. I can’t speak for an entire playerbase.
Though, I honestly think GW2 is going to turn into one of those games where a core group of people really stick with it. They may be complete fanboys, or just enjoy the community that remains around them. And that’s cool, it just won’t be a titan of an MMO further down the line I think.
Oh, and I don’t think one MMO will ever really steal the playerbase outright, but over the years, multiple MMO’s will take small chunks of players away from GW2 to game x, y or z…(as it would with any MMO in competition) but players are fine to come back into game whenever they like (even though with each passing year, that’s not really a strong argument to return because we live in a world where F2P games are the norm – so the same can be said for every other F2P)
For the time being I will continue to play. I am more miffed about the new trait unlock than about the gem conversion thingy (but only because I don’t use it), but GW2 remains a good game. I like the Halloween update because I did not have the opportunity to play it properly last year. And I am curious how the LS will continue.
I wonder though, how such blatant blundery (trait unlocks, commander tags for 300 g for each colour, entertaining cows instead of feeding them, blockwise gem gold conversion) could ever have passed QA…
You are influenced by those poisonous haters on the forums? Ignore them, they are only words.
If you’re not enjoying yourself, at the very least take a break. The game won’t go anywhere.
However, I’m still managing to have fun. Missions with my guild, smacking Teq around most evenings and going “Preciousssssssss” over the many spoons he gives me, developing my characters, and generally having a blast.
Disregard the Negative Nancys. They are determined to suck the joy out of everything in life because they can find no joy themselves. The world’s full of ’em.

Good to know that people who criticize even the dumbest of actions are nowadays considered “trolls”. This game isn’t perfect. Some people will get mad. It’s normal.
A White Knight here, let me go ahead and throw my opinion in on this…
Everyone has been hating on ANet recently, but for good reason.
False. I don’t see a good reason for the hate. You bought a game that had enough material to justify the expense, and they haven’t forced you to spend a dime since. The hate for ANet stems from people always wanting more and not being satisfied. The game is wonderful, and I love it, every part of it because it allows me to explore a well-designed world that I always look forward to returning to at the end of the day.
My question is, is it worth playing Guild Wars anymore. With no new content, Halloween was a disapointment, and there seems to be no content that people actually like in the game anymore
. Ive been thinking of leaving the game. I assume most other people are to right?
As has been said before, a majority of players don’t use the forums. The negative opinions here are in no way reflective of the overall player base. I still enjoy much of the game, especially the exploration and the beauty. The combat is fun and challenging, the NPCs are interesting, and the other players are a lot of fun – even just watching and listening to them.
I don’t think you should leave the game just yet, it seems to me it is changing quite a bit, and I think you’re going to miss out.
The people that have “won” the game by getting all the skins they want are certainly “done” with the game and I’m sure have moved on. In general, I like the game and will stick around a while, but I’m a casual player and understand that I could never obtain everything I want with my play style. Therefore, I only play for entertainment purposes, not to obtain any specific skins.
“Ive been thinking of leaving the game. I assume most other people are to right?”
You know what they say about assumptions….
But nope, no thoughts of leaving here. Husband is still content too. Son wants to get his own account. shrug To each their own I guess.
When did the dictionary definition of everybody change to “I don’t like something so everyone must hate it”? I think I missed that one.
What you see here is a handful of posts from no more than a couple of dozen people out of hundreds of thousands that pay the game. Hardly a majority and definitely not “everyone”.

ProtoGunner will help me with the first paragraph;
Quit about 3-4 months ago and I am happy I did, I read and write in the forums often and it seems getting worse and worse. This game is one of the biggest disappointments in my gaming career – on many levels. But in the end it is the management that fails.
I’ve written many times what is wrong, what could be bettered, what bothers us, what could be cool, what we like / dislike, what we suggest, and in the end it was all ignored.
5 % of my early writings was answered with hollow PR-answers and 95 % ignored. I stopped bothering writing for the staff of the company, and more to the players.
Like many others, professional game reviewers or plain players, this game delivered the best potential of all other products, but flat-lined post Halloween 2012, the last worthy update. Since then there is only the wardrobe and patronizing staff forum attitude I can remember. All else is a grey time-stall of nothing.
I miss my guild, not the game. But they are gradually moving together to another product. Another world to settle into …
No. I am a bit impatient for the next living story to start up again. I wish they would making the LS last longer. Like make it at least 6 to 8 chapters before heading into a mid-season break.
I have tons of fun. So nope not done here. there is so much I want to do. So many friends to play with. Assuming based on some backlash that all people hate something is a little harsh. I really wish people wouldn’t lump everyone together to justify doing something.
Go where you have fun, that is the most important part. I have fun here so I think I will stay.
“What Part Of Living Says You Gotta Die?
I Plan On Burnin Through Another 9 Lives”
Can I have your stuff? And if more people are thinking of leaving like you suggest- can I have their stuff too?!
… there seems to be no content that people actually like in the game anymore
. Ive been thinking of leaving the game. I assume most other people are to right?

I’m confused. If there’s no content that you like in the game any more, how are you having fun? If you’re still having fun, why would you be thinking of leaving? It doesn’t make much sense to me.
Table Warfare Miniatures - Armatures, Custom Miniatures, Moulds etc.
The base game that we have is still a nicely crafted experience something I still personally enjoy.
Dry Top had some fantastic ideas going with it and would love to see a lot of those ideas bleed out into other content like the inquest AI for example.
For me its like staying at a hotel.
As long as the accommodations are fantastic and customer service is flawless I’ll always keep coming back. Having a strong experience at a hotel or restaurant will always keep me coming back on a regular interval or even staying longer sessions thus me being flagged as a reliable head to count on by the house. I might want to go to the restaurant, have a meal, there might be a great public event in house that I can experience.
I might get a sour experience and have it at the back of my head every time I come across this hotel, decide to try out various places around town when I’m traveling, or try that same hotel again in a couple months to see if anything has changed.
Some people may be confused as to why I relate this to an MMO but the mentality here is the same.
I am staying at hotel Guild Wars 2. Sometimes the restaurant makes great food, other times my dessert gets ruined and is served to me anyways and I won’t remember the fantastic entre that the chef prepared for me. I’ll have a fantastic corporate meeting and come reception time the bar is absurdly overpriced when it was fair priced last week at a fantastic kittentail event. One thing is for sure though, the building and the lobby are nice and I do come back often to hang out in the lobby. Maybe I’ll go back to the restaurant again to see if the pastry chef got better.
My gaming time is split between GW2 and Archeage currently (probably more AA). I’m consistently disappointed with the lack of new content in GW2, but still desperate for anything I can get. So no, not “done”. Maybe someday in the foreseeable future (if EQN turns out well enough).
But for now, even if meaningful GW2 updates are few and far between, and a bit mediocre when they finally arrive, ..this game is still certainly one of the better options out there (even if Anet doesn’t seem to care about it / us ).
I’m greatly looking forward to Nov 4. Big patches for BOTH GW2 and AA on the day (and I should probably go vote too). I’ve actually requested off from work that Tuesday and the rest of the week ..maybe I’ll even get it.
For right now in GW2, I’m honestly not very interested in the Halloween rerun. If it was new stuff, I’d definitely make a point of doing it. But just same as before? Meh. I’m “around”, I do the occasional daily, but really not so engaged currently.
Server: Tarnished Coast
I’m cancelling my sub
i wouldn’t say everyone
this game caters to the lowest common denominator
i guess that’s me, so i’m staying
I just log-in when a new chapter of the LS comes out. It takes a me a few hours to complete, then I go play something else for the next two weeks (or more if the LS goes on a break). I don’t even bother completing the achievements anymore. I never thought this game would become a single player one.

Ignore the complaints. There are a lot of people that love to complain no matter what.
If you’re the type of person that wants an expansion worth of content all at once followed by 1-2 years of little new content, take a long break from the game. Come back in about a year and you’ll have your expansion.
(Do make sure to log in briefly every two weeks to unlock the episodes for free.)
They told they WONT do an expansion, so get over with and get used to it, or just leave.
I’ll admit that I did find this Halloween initially disappointing. Particularly the fact that the Labyrinth is no longer an amazing place to level, due to low map population caps, and zergs preferring everyone be at their best now. But you know, it’s actually quite fun organizing and defeating the Labyrinth bosses with less people.
At the very least, they added some candycorn cob items to grind for, which I’m always an apparent sucker for.
The number one most upsetting and annoying feature of this patch to me has been the Gem exchange UI change. Which has already been announced to be reverted soon. The UI change felt like a punch to the face, yet another pointless-NPE like change that felt like more a money grab than anything.
For the toast!
I’m holding out to see if Season 2 part 2 is any good. If it’s the same one hour instance and 10 square feet of map, I think it’ll be what pushes me to uninstalling the game.

Its funny I actually just came back to gw2 after 6 months just 2 weeks ago

Your probably right, thanks for the feedback
Is everyone done with Guild Wars 2?
No.
I think it’s worth seeing the LS season 2 thru to the end but we’ll see after that. I have been playing daily since the end of LS 1, but hung up my Daily habit a few weeks ago as I feel it’s time for a break.
The great thing about GW2 is that you can take a break and come back without any huge losses.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
With megaservers it’s a little hard to tell how many people have left or play a little less frequently (like me).
I have been getting the low pop move to another server message with increasing regularity though.
The graphics and scenery still amaze me, I’ve spent more this month on gems than I ever have. Working on my 2nd level 80 warrior, this one an Asura, doing world exploration (again) using the NPE pointer.

I agree. Great looking game. Easy to play as well.
I have an Asura Guardian. She looks amazing in the cultural armor with that big old hammer.
But for my warrior I went with a Norn.
Well those who are in game are always farming 99% of them for their legendary like me.
If there were no legendaries game would die in 3 months.
Legendary farming is an end game and thats it.

I get that low pop message all the time, and mostly it’s really easy to explain. I get it in Wayfarer Foothilla after the shaman event is done, I get it in Caledon Forest after the Jungle Wurm, in Blazeridge after the Shatterer, in Southsun after Karka Queen, and so on … I guess you can see where this leads . If you are on the world boss train, you can just wait until everyone leaves to get the buff for switching from a low-pop server before going to the next map, although you do risk not getting onto the same map as the rest of your train that way. If you are not on the world boss train, enjoy the extra buff every time the train leaves.
Back on topic: No, you are not right. At least I am neither hating on ANet nor thinking about leaving. I’m having fun in-game, and I have the sneaking suspicion that I’m not the only one .
edit: oh, and I’m not farming for a legendary, nor do I have one yet … there’s more than enough other stuff in game to keep me busy.

Alts are mostly keeping me entertained, but going through Queensdale for the 4th kind of gives me a sour taste in my mouth

Legendary farming is an end game and thats it.
Why do people think everyone is like them. I have a guild full of people who have been playing quite a long time and most of them have no interest in legendaries at all.
Maybe it’s not as cut and dried as you think.
People that are having fun are playing the game instead of coming here to complain on the forums.
Why do we need 3 threads like this a week?
If you don’t like the game, leave and play something else. Stop trying to act like no one plays the game when clearly lots of people still do.
