Is it all WvW and no more PvE ? Alone :(
I’m on Sanctum of Rall and Gaiscioch (GSCH) host some pretty fun PvE events. Their is always a Queensdale and Frostgorge zerg going on too.
Most zones are still pretty empty though but if you are into the popular content you should be able to find some people. Living Story stuff on SoR is always very active too. You may be able to get a fee transfer too if it’s not too late for the Season 2 WvW transfers.

I’m on Crystal Desert too, friend, and I play a lot of alts so I feel you when you talk about all of the starting areas( heck, even the high level areas) being empty. It’s all down to either WvW or the mega-guilds running boss events.
We were in the top 10 for months after release but something happened and everyone seems to have just jumped ship. Despite our supposed “high population” server, the world is a ghost town.
I have Crystal Desert pride so I’m not leaving my server. My guild is here, my friends are here, I started here and by god I’m staying here. I don’t think it’s entirely a problem with server population (though I would like to see ANet combine some servers to repopulate things again, and maybe force people to take turns in WvW since that’s where so many people spend all their time).
Honestly, I’ve adopted the Ghandi policy. “Be the change you want to see in the world”. Be a trendsetter, map chat, invite and involve people in play again rather than just running with the flow of the lemmings in the mega-guilds.
That’s a good point Felkes. Try to be that change.
I’m on Darkhaven. It’s pretty populated-the train in Queensdale is always running, but I have no idea about the frostgorge train, because I haven’t heard of it. If you’re considering a change, darkhaven would be great. However, the WvW is not too huge.
Frostgorge Farm. It’s pretty profitable for now. If your going to do it I would try before the April 15th update that nerfs Champions a bit.

I am on JQ but if you feel like guesting here or get with me in game I will guest to you and do open world with you.
If you started playing again on or after Friday then most people probably were in WvW.
A new WvW tournament started on Friday and most people probably went to check it out. Especially since there’s no Living Story to divide peoples attention and the new Edge of the Mists map means there’s no cap on how many people can play WvW at once.
But it’s not a permanent change, the tournament won’t be the new thing forever. It runs until the 30th of May but a lot of people will probably stop playing and go back to PvE long before that, either when they get their achievements or when they get bored.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”

A good summary of where people are. Mid zones in any game are empty, just the nature of not being able to be in multiple places at once.
I’m just looking to have a fun time
Not sure if youll have a fun time in champtrains. It’s the dullest thing you can do ingame
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
Plus a lot of people might prefer to level their alts by running dungeons. There you go.
I’m a CD main. I guest to Blackgate for PvE
GuestGate 2014 \o/
I know there are plenty of ways to level but I have no idea what the priorities are. If I WvW all day am I missing anything important, if I pve open world 24/7 am I missing anything? If I dooooo just dungeons am I missing anything? I would love some advice on what a guy starting from scratch should be doing.
first you should just get a character to 80, to do that you can just work on map completion usually, or craft if you have the gold and want to go faster.

Just go through the game slowly on your first toon. This will allow you to experience the beauty of this game, and its uniqueness. Collecting vistas and hearts is a good way to do this, but also do your story line. This is what I did on my first toon and I absolutely loved it. WvW should be your end game, but do whatever you enjoy.
