Hello.

I’ve ran across quite many mobs that almost allways spawn at the same place.
My question is that if I make a macro hitting 1 while afking, is this considered as botting/breaking the rules?

Botting is bannable in most, if not, every mmos, unless there is an afk system included in the game, which gw2 doesn’t have..

well using a macro that hits 1 key over and over again is not really a bot. That is why im asking about this.

I can do this with my keyboard software .

I don’t see why not, but I’d like to question you… why?

The game is a world full of experiences which you… don’t want to experience? Since there’s no real point in getting to 80 since you’ll be doing the same thing you’re already doing, what is the point?

I have a programmable keyboard, the Logitech G11. I used the programmable keys in SWTOR, and WOW constantly, and when I started playing GW2 I setup a few macro keys, but quickly realized that the skills in this game require far to much attention to be left to a macro. You really should not limit your playing ability by utilizing a macro, it will only develop bad playing habits, better to get use to the keys as they are, before you know it, it will be second nature to reach across the keyboard and hit those far away 7 to 10 keys.

From the rules of conduct: "You may not use any third-party program (such as a “bot”) in order to automate gameplay functions, including playing, chatting, interacting, or gathering gold or items within Guild Wars 2. You may not assist, relay, or store gold or items for other players who are using these processes."

That the third-party program runs on your keyboard’s hardware is irrelevant. What matters is that you’d be automating gameplay functions.

You can use programmable buttons on your keyboard to bind skills together or whatever, the only stipulation is that you have to be behind the keyboard pushing the buttons. You can’t let it sit over night or whatever autoattacking a mob spawn.
