“escape” works if it’s casted
I use dodge to cancel out skills that I activate by mistake.

Weapon Swapping works everytime. Another trick with weapon swapping, when you are “harvesting” an objective, you get credit the moment you double click it but you get stuck in the animation with a progress bar, you can weapon swap out of that also.

The “stow / draw weapons” keybind or Esc key are the best options since they cancel the spell at no cost (unlike e.g. dodging).
Weapon swapping is capable of canceling a few casts that the aforementioned method cannot (like charges and leaps), but comes at a high cost.
