I’m not sure if I need to keep these in my inventory. Here are some of these items I’m still keeping:
- N/W/S/E Tarir Commendations
- Luminate’s Keepsake
- Illuminated Tendril

I’m having a hard time managing my inventory

If the collections are complete and the reward items claimed (i.e. ascended backs, trinkets, etc) then yes, you don’t need to keep all that junk.

Some might be worth keeping. Things like the Legendary Weapon collection unique items – the wolf morph, the ooze, the various lore tomes, etc.

Basically, once a collection is complete, I keep all the items that “do something” and dump the normal stuff.

You don’t need to wait until the collection is complete. If the item shows up in the collection as unlocked, you can dispose of it, should you so desire.

You can check the Wiki, as well.

As noted above, if it has another use, other than being just a Trophy, you might consider keeping it. Most are either just Trophies, either to be sold or deleted.

I believe that for Legendary Weapon Crafting there are items that get recorded in the collection but are still needed for making a future item. Are Legendary Backpacks the same?

For straight collections you can get rid of items after they are “recorded” if you want, but for collections where you are crafting something I would be careful.

• If a collection is complete, you definitely don’t need all the collection items.
• If a collection is “in progress” and the item doesn’t say if it’s just “needed for the collection” and has “no other use”, then there are a couple of ways to check. The simplest is to use the wiki

• type "/wiki " in chat, but don’t press [enter]
• shift-click the item (or set of items)
• press [enter]

This will open up the wiki in your default browser to the article on a single item or a page linking the articles for multiple items. If there’s no mention of doing something with the item, you can delete it.

What can I do if I disposed of a trophy needed for a legendary collection that was locked? I believe to have sold or destroyed the trophy when I had the collection locked. Now that I have unlocked the collection, the trophy does not appear anymore in the area where it is supposed to.

I’m going to try with another character to see if the chest is unopened.

You can complete the Jumping Puzzle as many times as you like (once per day) to acquire the item, regardless of character. Do be aware, that many items are not guaranteed to appear at each completion, but are of an rng-nature.

Once the collection is complete you definitely don’t need to keep any of the items you collected. You might want to keep some of them because they do other things, but that’s entirely up to you.

Most of them you can get rid of as soon as it’s recorded in the collection, even if you haven’t finished the whole thing. There are a few items which are needed for another stage of the collection, and you can usually find this out either by checking the collection itself or the Wiki. But once the collection is complete you can get rid of anything that’s left over.

I don’t think you can get legendary collection items before the collection is unlocked. I’ve only done the Bifrost collections but that’s how it worked at ever stage of the process: the items I needed never dropped until I had the relevant collection unlocked (as in items for the 3rd tier collection didn’t even drop when I was working on the 2nd tier, I had to unlock the 3rd tier).

But many of them aren’t guaranteed drops, they have a pretty high chance but still won’t happen every time. For items which come from a jumping puzzle chest the best approach is to leave a character standing next to the chest and open it once a day. That way you don’t have to keep re-doing the puzzle.

You can check the description of it says it only had value for the collections then you can get rid of it at your earliest convenience

Once a collection item is in your inventory you automatically unlock it’s purpose, so throw/sell everything away. There are a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT of useless items in this game and your inventory and bank are going to be overflowing in seconds if you horde things.

It’s both a collection item and an ingredient for one of the other collection items. You do have to read the description properly before destroying it. Anything that says “Only has value as part of a collection” is safe to dispose of.
