I start playing GW2 like 2 -3 weeks ago 20 minutes sometimes 1 h in-game was more than enough and i log out . I quit after 2 days with hero level 34 ranger. Back after all this changes and there is everything even more insane then it was before.I’m thinking about creating new character but it’s still feel like it gets boring, confusing and repetitive after an day ..Is it worth coming back or even trying or just delete my account and ask for refund ?

I love the game and I think this is (mostly) a great update. However, it sounds as if you aren’t enjoying yourself. Some people who like traditional MMOs find it hard to get into GW2; the ones that eventually come to love it have said that they needed to change how they approached the game. Sometimes that meant spending more time exploring, sometimes more time experimenting, sometimes more on the side things (like jumping puzzles etc).

Maybe if you describe the things that you like about other games or what you were hoping to find here, we might be able to offer specific ideas.

Otherwise, maybe the game just isn’t a good fit for you and then yeah, ask for a refund.

Ask them for a new car too while you’re at it.

I suggest joining a guild. Playing with people who share your interests make the gaming experience that much richer. It is an MMO after all.

I would recommend you get at least one class to level 80. “End game” as it is known is really quite different from the questing and grinding. If you follow the zerg (large group of players) running around in EOTM (Edge of the Mists) you can get to level 80 in about 30 hours of play. Getting the right gear, choosing a build and levelling to 80 isn’t all that difficult, but refining your skills in PvP and WvW is challenging and a big part of the game you won’t experience until you’ve put those hours in.

Confusing? thats because of the steep learning curve, boring? you haven’t gotten to the best parts of the game. And repetitive? you may not recognise the nuances of the game or each class, of each build, of each circumstance.

Rarely are two situations exactly the same, there is so much to consider i.e. your class, your build, your opponents class and build, any additional opponents and allies classes and builds, being out numbered, in offensive situation or defensive situation, the layout of the terrain, is there a lot of open space or is there a lot of obstructions to use to break line of sight, the state of your cool downs, the weapon you are using, the weapon they are using etc etc. And unlike a lot of other mmorpgs these circumstances matter ALOT i.e A Lowbow ranger is going engage you in open areas at a distance where as a Condition Shortbow/Melee Ranger will try to crowd in on you.

I personally find most sports rather boring and competitive, but for many people its the greatest passion of their lives. Kick a ball or hit a ball meh… but there’s a lot of nuance and psychology behind each decision and each move that goes unnoticed by the outsider.

One more suggestion in that you may be playing a class that isn’t stimulating enough for you (Rangers also eventually become really difficult to survive in late game pvp/wvw unless you run with a zerg, RESPECT). Might I recommend Thief, Elementalist, Mesmer or Engineer? In my opinion I feel they require more active playing to get right, you will be confused, but you will be rewarded for committing to them with hours of practice. And by hours I mean you’d be at intermediate skill after around at least 200 hours of play if not more (depending on class).

Also know that if you jump into Spvp (indicated by the crossed swords on the top left of of your User Interface) you character’s stats get up levelled to 80 so that you can compete on even footing with other players, even so you won’t have those hours of practice under your belt so you may find it difficult to keep up. Spvp is rarely a welcoming experience for the new-comer.

Have you got a guild? A good guild will help you learn quicker. Which server you on?

and ask for refund ?

Since when did “get a refund” become the next, big thing? I see this all the freakin’ time now. Don’t like it? Get a refund! Surely that’s not a problem, right? Where will it end? “I didn’t ask for pickles on my half-eaten burger! Reeeefuuuund!”

On a bit more serious note, it doesn’t cost anything to keep and play the game, so why not try a few characters and see for yourself if you enjoy it? The confusion part I get, but that’s just a minor obstacle we all have to do deal with when we get a new game. And trust me, it’s not nearly as complicated as it might seem. I think GW2 is actually one of the easiest MMOs I’ve played to understand, and it does a TON of things right. Crafting mats? Send them directly to the bank to save inventory space. Want to craft? Use mats directly from the bank – no matter what character, as the bank is account wide. Want to have fun? Have fun. Go to higher level areas to get a challenge, or go to lower level areas and get a slightly less challenge, but still full XP and loot. (seriously, even at level 30, I got better boots than the one I had from a random mob in Metrica Province).

Oh, ans don’t like the rangr? Try a new class. I’ve played them all, and some really surprised me – both positively and negatively. I thought I was going to enjoy the Engineer, but I deleted her when she was level 31. I thought I was going to hate the Warrior and Ranger, but they are now my mains. The thief sucked, as the bow kept loosing focus all the time. Yet my ranger focuses on a bow. Strange.
