Condition Damage, Power, Vitality to be accurate as the major skill is Condition damage.

Interested in this thread as well, though I don’t know the full list of attributes of my elem by heart.

Idk too much about ele but my cond thief has 1400 (exactly 1400) condition damage without any outside buffs like might or food. Running full power vitality condition damage with those same runes. Got like 20k health but probably a little less toughness than you’re build. No investment into precision.

If you’re going for condition damage, either go mostly into precision with condition damage or not at all. 13% isn’t that often, and since sigils arn’t 100% proc for conditions on crititcal it isn’t worth the effort to invest into precision. Just go full defence + condition damage (defence being either vitality or toughness) and you should do great for large aoe conditions.

First, two questions: what sigil are you using, and what 6-0 skills do you use most often?

My ele runs the 0/10/0/30/30 spec and uses zerker’s/knight’s gear so I can switch from a staff powerhouse to a D/D or S/D aurasharer at will, but I have some friends that run some variation on 30/x/30/x/x and those are viable builds.

It seems like you are trying to mix a condi ele with a bit of a signet build, but I’m not sure how well those two mesh together for you without knowing your 6-0 skills. You are doing a great job on maxing out your condition damage except in your ascended gear (sorry, I know that stuff is a pain to get). A P/T/V back isn’t a bad choice for survivability, but your rings are sub-optimal. As NinjaEd said, you either want to stack precision (in addition to your condition damage, which would require a complete redo of your gear for little change in your DPS) or avoid it. Similarly, unless you truly believe that the +% MF really helps your drops, scrap that in favor of more Power/Cond Dmg/Toughness/Vitality.

Staff is a good weapon for condition damage builds, as is Scepter/Dagger (plus carry a focus for situational use). Dagger/Dagger is usually considered a weaker weapon set for pure condition builds, but is good for a signet/aura build.

As far as traits go, if you want to go for more condition damage, check out Earth IV and Earth VIII. If you happen to use a lot of cantrips, then check out Fire IV, as well. If you use solely signets, then you may want to look into running a signet/aura build when you use scepter/dagger, scepter/focus, or dagger/dagger, which makes use of Fire IX, Earth II, Earth V and Earth XII – traiting 10 into Air for the Air I major trait also boosts this signet/aura build even more.

Overall, great job on boosting your damage while maintaining some survivability.

My Healing Skill is – Glyph of Elemental Harmony
My Utility Skills are:
7 – Glyph of Storms
8- Arcane Shield
9- Signet of Fire
My Elite Skill is – Glyph of Elementals

As you can see am not a signet build ele.. I mainly use the Trait for maintaining the Signet effect mainly just to maintain the crit. chance it has . But am seeing its useless so am thinking of checking out other traits for that one

Check out Glyph of Elemental Power instead of Signet of Fire (think about this: Meteor storm or Glyph of Storms + burning), and also look into Arcane Wave – that blast finisher is awesome with all the fields that a staff ele gets.

Trait-wise, swap out Earth XII for Earth VIII (20% longer bleeds) or possibly Earth IV (5% more damage to bleeding enemies – I think even when not in earth attunement).

And if you don’t have a sigil you love, get yourself a Major/Superior Sigil of Battle (2/3 stacks of might (20sec) on [attunement] swap, internal cooldown of 9 seconds) for more might-stacking awesomeness.

Changing attunements counts for changing weapons on those? I feel like I should have know that already.

Attunment change counts as weapon change

Yes, documented on wiki. Go to the PvP area and try it out for yourself! If you run Superior Runes of Monk and Water with a Superior Sigil of Battle, then you’re pretty much guaranteed a permanent 9 stacks of might.

Note that the Sigil of Intelligence was bugged for a very long time and may very well still be bugged – for that sigil, attunement change doesn’t count as a weapon swap.

I run a condition damage build with s/d and all signets (Air, Water, and Earth, as well as Healing, plus Glyph of Elementals for Elite). http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/elementalist/?1|b.1h.h5.8.1h.h1h|0.0.0.0.0.0|1k.716.1k.a2.1h.716.1h.716.1h.716.1k.716|21l.e12.1k.68.1k.68.1h.62.1h.62.ck.68|u67c.0.u23c.0.a5|0.0|e I wear a mix of Carrion/Cleric’s armor and accessories, with Carrion weapons.

I agree with NinjaEd about the precision thing. I don’t think it’s viable to go for a small amount of precision; you’re better off stacking higher in another area. I don’t get anything with precision stats. I can’t imagine the “Written In Stone” is useful if you aren’t running signets. DEKeyz has a lot of great things to say so I won’t bother getting into that.

If you’ve gotten this far, then I’m sure you know this, but Ele’s are just squishy. Learning to dodge and kite and move around is the biggest way to help with survivability. I mean, we can stack toughness, but it only helps so much.

One thing I’m curious about…how are all your stats so high? I’m level 80 and fully geared (except back piece) and all my stat points equal about 1000 less than yours?!

I did play around with going full Carrion and forgetting the Healing Power altogether. But it didn’t raise my stats a significant amount to make it worth regearing. Now, in PvP, I ran full Carrion with Runes of the Adventurer, basically to maximize my power and cond damage. I haven’t run it much yet, but if I hadn’t already geared in PvE I may have went for that.

The other thing is, like DEKeyz mentioned, carrying weapons for situational use. I had a hard time with this at first, as I’m quite comfortable with s/d, but I have come to see the wisdom in it. I have an exotic Staff in my inv I carry at all times, and use it when necessary for ranged situations, like the Nightmare Tree in TA, or the Flame Legion Assassins in CoFP2. I also swap out my Utility Skills in situations where say, I need Ice Bow for AC burrows, or I need some AoE, so I put in Glyph of Storms for a bit. Etc. I think it helps to know what you’re capable of in addition to what is comfortable for you.

I will try swapping my accesories with ones that have critical dmg. Thnx As it comes to the stats i have listed all the armor/runes/accessories i’ ve equiped my ele. But which of the stats are u talking about specificly. However am thinking of equiping my staff with the sigil of bloodlust which seems nice enough.. For daggers i’ll go bloodlust+battle

You mean how your stats are higher?

Basically if you add all your points from Power, Precision, Toughness, Vitality, Condition Damage, and Healing Power, you have about 1000 points more than I do. Only your Power and Healing Power are lower than mine, and not by that much. I don’t think your ascended accessories make up for that much of a jump, so I’m just curious how you have so many points? Exotics should all have the same number spread…Does that make sense?

I cannot find where you have anything that should equal that much more stat points than I.

This isn’t a PvP build, is it?
