Guild Wars 2

Is the original Guild Wars worth playing now that Guild Wars 2 is here? I had the entire original Guild Wars expansions and all but I have since forgotten my log in information and although I’d like to play again I want to make sure that it’s worth my time buying it all over again.

I love it and hop in quite often. Still lots of people playing, especially in pvp. Kamadan and LA have the most people milling about, same with embark beach.

Yes, unless you have been everywhere and done everything it is pretty much a certainty you will find something new. Maybe not as much in <70 zones (how many times can you escort a dolyak) for all your characters but certainly in places like SW, DT, Southsun, and Orr. Another fun challenge is mentoring new players, rather than the same old events (yawn, the next champ in this boss event will span in 4 minutes and 38 seconds) you can never predict what humans will do.

It depends on what you want to get out of playing GW. If you want the HoM skins then yes it’s worth it. Just remember they are two very different games.

doh I read the topic wrong and was talking about GW2. Much of it applies though, I never played GW and now I am curious to play it because it would have a lot of stuff I have not seen (or seen from a different perspective). The question is can I play it though?

When I was looking at the new account page right there on the Overview page under Game Accounts there’s a link to buy GW1. It’ll take you to GW1’s store page where you can buy the game. So yes, it’s very much possible to play it.

Yeah can play GW1. It is a co-op game that it completely instanced. You will not run in to other players out.in the world, city’s you’ll see lots of people, that are like lobby’s. But you can play the game on your own if you with with henchmen that are in all city’s, outposts and missions. The only places you can’t use henchmen are FoW and UW. But with Nightfall and Eye of the North, you can gt Hero’s. Hero’s are NPC’s that you can customize with weapons and skills. And you can take them anywhere.
