I’m currently level 23 warrior and I need level 28 to continue on the story, there’s no way I can win the battle for the 28 mission. Is there faster efficient way to level up? Guide anywhere? I can’t seem to find one.

And when you do the LVL 28, the next will be 33 or so.

You need to explore maps, perform reknown heart tasks, complete daily achievements.

Pretty much everything in GW2 gives you XP. If you’re traveling a linear path through the world without branching off into other areas or types of content, you’re not going to be able to keep up with your personal story.

You can go from level 1 to level 80 in just a few hours with crafting, by the way.

man leveling up is the best part of the game

try going to the mists through the PvP screen, then take asura gate to Lion`s Arch, then go to the other races starting areas and do those too

you don’t really need money for crafting.
When you complete a heart, the npc becomes a karma vendor. Most of those have the harvesting tools for sale, as well as salvage kits. This is all you need to start crafting.
Once you choose your crafting skills, you can gain 10 levels for each of them.
My usual session when not doing dungeons is go for a map completion while gathering every thing I can, salvaging everything I can, and when I’m done with the zone, I go to my town (and I try to coordinate this with my personal story), do the town personal story part, go craft with the mats I’ve collected, which gets me to gain around 3-4 levels for 3 hours of play.
This can be much quicker if you watch the vista and skill points videos on youtube in advance and if you have a friend since some challenges are hard when you’re alone, but I like to take my time to also enjoy the wonderful scenery in the game, and while traveling, I kill most creatures I find for the crafting mats, which also gain some XP.

When I get to my personal story instance, I do it, but I don’t immediately head back to town, I stay at my zone, trying to complete as much hearts/vista/skill/poi/waypoints, so I don’t have to travel there again just for the poi I missed.

You’ll find yourself at a nice balance between being at the level of your story or 1 or 2 levels above or under, which should be enough for most parts of this (I only had problems when I hit 75, and had some level 50~ gear)

The best thing to do is not actively go and look for specific quests to level up. I hated walking around, looking in particular areas for quests and whatnot. Let the games quest system do the work for you. See an interesting area? go explore it, chances are you’ll come across a poi, skill point, heart quest AND dynamic quest, giving you maybe 1/2 a level, then go somewhere else. IMO crafting is an incredibly boring way to level up.

Take any zones your personal story has taken you to. 100% explore those zones. Do this every time you’re taken to a new zone (to the extent that you’re not underleveled for that zone). You’ll probably always be adequately leveled for your personal story.

This is just to start, until you find areas you actively want to explore, and other things you actively want to do.

If you go for 100% map completion of the zone where your story line is, you probably always be in a proper level to do the story line.
Basicly, this is how I leveled my guardian. With crafting and very few dungeons, I reached level 80 well before completing the story line.

Also, don’t ignore the fact that harvesting gives XP, and many of the non-hostile creatures (that con yellow) give significant bonus XP because they haven’t been killed in a while. Food is really cheap on the trading post – keep a food buff on for the 10% bonus to XP. Potions/sharpening stones/crystals/oils stack with food, so I always keep both buffs up when I’m leveling.

GW2 was the first game where I out-leveled my husband (it’s usually me trying to catch up with him), because I stopped for every harvesting node and did some crafting. I wasn’t even doing it all that seriously, I’d just use up whatever I’d found and it was a significant chunk of XP at the lower levels.

Don’t forget OP that since there are 5 races, there are 5 starting areas. Do not be afraid to visit other parts of the world since the content will scale you down to where it is not a cakewalk, but you get 5 times the xp by time you get back to your personal story.

I do that regularly with my characters and I often outlevel my story so much that I have to take an hour to JUST do story parts back to back to back.

This game rewards the explorer in you, and that in turn helps you grow.

Everybody has a different approach to leveling based on what they enjoy. I point this out as a disclaimer that what works for e might not work for you.

For my main, I am a completionist. I’ve been 80 for over a month but still have many stages of my story to go. I’ve been too busy working towards 100% map exploration (all hearts, points of interest, etc), dungeons, and so on. I never found myself lacking for experience because there was always another zone to compelte that was level appropriate.

My 6 alts take a different path. I don’t have any special interest in completing all the maps with them, just getting them to a point where they can access content so I can bring the right tool for the right job. When I log on an alt to play, I generally try to do all my daily achievements and complete hearts and events in the area, but rather than stay in a zone to 100%, I always try to stay in a level-appropriate area. I didn’t have a chance to do my dailies last night, so I logged on my engineer for an hour this morning before work—thats all it took to go from 18 to almost-21. Every 10 levels or so, I go abck and work on my personal story—I have the levels to compelte a full chapter and possibly have all the relevant waypoints, too.

Edit: I just realized that my elementalist has been hanging out at the Ascalonian Catacombs for the better part of two months now… she really needs to get that medicine her friend’s father urgently needs before his condition worsens…

The leveling system in GW2 has ONLY one limitation—it’s not very efficient to level up doing only one thing (unless you really like WvW).

As long as you have at least two aspects of the game that you enjoy (say, exploring and crafting, or story and WvW, or events and heart quests) you will find yourself leveling up very, very easily.

I guess there’s one other limitation: grinding mobs is not a good way to level up. Don’t choose that as one of your 2+ things to do.

Digivolution, I recommend you just take your time. The game is incredibly rich in story content. Every little corner of the game has something special to offer.

My advise.

Anything that crosses your path (i.e. gathering, killing enemies, doing hearts, finding vistas, points of interest), DO THEM!

The way I approached the personal story was to actually complete the zones/maps first before moving on with the story points; which allowed me to be several levels above the next part of the story.

You may feel like you are grinding, but the rewards will come – in bucke loads of XP hehehe.

As for crafting, well, I would suggest reading up on it rather than me or anyone writing a book here. But basically, the more you kill enemies the more crafting materials you will obtain – which equates to more crafting and thus more XP.
