Hey guys now i dont know if it is possible or not or whether it is against the rules but is there a way of selling a weapon which is soulbound? I mean i bought a vision of the mist not thinking ahead and now am in a more…lets say…running low on gold ingame and i kinda wanna sell it back to get some other stuff.

Just wondering if it is possible to resell those items and if not, do u think arenanet will ever introduce something which will allow us to resell items such as vision of the mist or any unwanted expenssive weapons.

The point of soulbound items is that they are bound to your character. No one else can use them so you cannot sell them.

You can sometimes sell them to NPC merchants but you can’t sell them to other players and I doubt that will ever be changed because it would defeat the point of making things soulbound.

So what DO people normally do with soul bound items they don’t want anymore? Just destroy them?

They can be used in the Mystic Forge. Take a soulbound item and 3 other cheap items of the same rarity (color), throw them in the MF, and pray for a miracle. You might strike lightning and get a good item. Usually you will at least get a crap item you can sell or salvage. If you’re unlucky, you’ll get another crap item that’s soulbound as well.

150 GP item? Nonsense, if you hover over it or offer to sell it to a merchant you will see the value insofar as the game is concerned, usually a few silver pieces.

Now, if you decided to pay another player 150 GP for that item, you may be a bit unhappy with that, but that is not ANet’s problem.

If it is any comfort, I saw a thread recently by someone who had accidentally salvaged their Legendary weapon and was hoping for a rollback. I don’t think it was forthcoming.

I can’t think of a single item that will give 6 ectos when salvaged. as far as I know, 3 is the absolute most.
I would usually throw an old exotic you don’t want anymore into the mystic forge with 3 others. But that depends on what’s socketed into it. If it’s socketed with something worth >30s, it’s probably more valuable salvaged than forged.
as the general answer to your question: soulbound items are worth next to nothing. if it cost you 150g or 2g, it’s still only worth <1g once you soulbind it.
