I think that is simply a Warrior being tormented by a Mesmer’s illusion.

On a sidenote, it’s a pity that the idea of illusions with unique visuals was scrapped. It would have made the Mesmer far more appealing to some.

I think the primary problem with Mesmers is that they tend to be pretty dull once you get past the whole illusion mechanic. Clones + Phantasms can only do so much when your weapon sets are bland.

Yes, please make the mesmers clones look like the one in the art. It is a fantastic idea that would gain wide acceptance in WvWvW, at least among players who play against mesmers.

Clones should stay as clones, their point is to be identical to the player. But more nightmarish illusions would certainly be welcome.

I remember devs justified the lack of nightmarish illusions because it would make things too confusing, but to be honest, I don’t see how. What’s the difference between nightmarish illusions and ele’s elementals and necro’s minions? How would it make things more confusing?
