6600K got some combo sale on Newegg, didnt look at the details though.
At this point I would hesitate to buy a new CPU however, unless cheap on sale. 7th gen Intel are expected to release around january, which probably mean price cuts for old CPUs as well.

Agreed.
Also, AMD’s Zen processors are also due for release in Q1 2017. If the performance rumors are half true, Intel will be forced to lower the prices of their i5/i7 parts.
We’ll see about Zen when it gets benched by everyone. I would imagine AMD to set the price to slot a bit below the existing price performance curve of Intel. I still don’t see AMD being straight up competitive in price/power/performance or both single, multicore and gaming benchmarks. If it is then great but Intel is sitting on their next CPU waiting to one up AMD as soon as Zen is broadly released. The same way nVidia waits on AMD GPUs before going “tada”.
