Just accidentally sold expensive item
I don’t think you can undo a TP transaction. You listed it for cheap, someone somewhere is incredibly happy at snagging that deal.

I didn’t list it cheap, I accidentally right clicked or something and bam it was gone in a second, no confirmation or nothing

You did list it cheap. It was an accidental listing, but it happened. And yeah, sadly I don’t think they can/will do anything about TP transactions. :\
I’ve never heard a case of the devs being able to ‘undo’ a TP transaction, since, after all, there’s a second party involved.
If you’d sold it to an NPC, maybe, but now another player has the item, is probably over the moon because they got it so cheap, and now what? CS won’t take it away from them, but you also won’t simply get a duplicate.
Sorry, but you’ll have to live with this :/

How is this even possible? As far as I know, you can’t take a price lower than the one of the highest buy order…
Yeah if there were higher bid order you should report it as a bug, and maybe since it was a bug CS may return the item. Just make sure in the ticket they know it was a bug that caused it to sell so low.
If you right click something so it opens up the trading post, it doesn’t sell automatically. It automatically selects the highest bidder but you still need to sell it and there is a confirmation button afterward. Wiki doesn’t even it show it having a vendor price so that it could sell accidentally that way. Normally a person would have to manually enter the price to get it sold at a different price than highest bidder or lowest seller.

If it did something that no other item does by selling at a non vendor price and not to the highest bidder then make a ticket and see what support says.
ANet may give it to you.

That is not quite true anymore. It used to do that with the side effect of allowing people to by pass the listing fee. A while ago it was changed so that if you tried to do that it would still sell to the person with the highest buy order by the buyer would get refunded the difference in price instead.
Nope. Take this as a lesson, a very costly one.

What kind of lesson is this though? Don’t trust GW2? Only keep one hand on the keyboard/mouse at a time when using TP? Always have an adult present when using TP? There’s nothing for me to learn here m8

The lesson is to not click “sell” before entering the price you wanted. I’ve made some doozy mistakes on the TP, but I have yet to come close to selling something potentially worth over even 10g for that little.

If you can’t see the lesson then there is no hope for you.

you do not accidentally delete the whole price price in all 3 boxes in order to sell a ~90g item for 2c.

I used to run into a bug where items would be listed (and sold!) for the listing amount of the FIRST item I checked (when opening the TP from my inventory), regardless of the item or the amounts I entered.
I haven’t experienced that bug since the TP interface update though.
I suppose knowing what it was you accidentally sold for cheap would help. I mean, did you accidentally sell your Eternity for 50c?
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Wow. That really sucks. Should have been 115 Gold. I don’t know how that happened to you, but I feel for you. Whether it was your mistake or a glitch, the end result is that sucks.

Is there anything that can be done? :’(
That sucks man.
You can always submit a ticket. Give all the information, exactly what you did, etc. They may be able to do something, they may not. Either way it wouldn’t hurt.
Good luck!
Also I am more inclined to think this is a glitch. If there was no confirmation, and there are no records of any sell listings that go that low (at least according to GW2 spidy). So send a ticket at see what they can do.
Good luck!

if you do what he did, it sells to the highest offer for 2c and they get a refund of their buy order – 2c, so it wouldnt show up on the tp sites

Ouch, sorry to see this but i doubt anet can do anything about it since third party is involved.
When i started playing i saved for a month to make myself two mystic daggers and i made them, after a long fractal around 2am i accidently salvaged one of them. I felt like crap. But nice guild member sent one to me after i qqed next day.
How? Just how do you “accidentally” do something like this? I’ve TPed many things… never ran into an issue like this. Accidentally clicked on sell to highest buy vs lowest sell, sure. But this? This takes effort to “accidentally” do….

OP said “I didn’t list it cheap, I accidentally right clicked or something and bam it was gone in a second, no confirmation or nothing”
Idk, my suspicion is he was checking the price or was trying to enter a price and accidentally sold it for 2.11 gold as it’s not going to sell without the trading post up and that item on the panel.

I think someone explained it above: it’s a combination of delay between the TP opening and publishing the current WTB/WTS values, delays after clicking or typing numbers, and general latency…along with being in a rush.
If the TP loads fast for you, you’ll never notice even the possibility of this happening. If the TP loads slowly enough, you’ll wonder why it doesn’t happen to everyone every day.
My preventative habit is to (almost) never sell to an existing buyer nor accept an existing sell offer; that guarantees that I’m never clicking ‘buy’ or ‘sell’ before my computer has a chance to finish loading the TP data for the item in question. On my desktop, that’s no hardship at all; on my TP, it means proceeding very slowly indeed.
Oh but I think I know what happened hehehe. Just assuming, but weren’t you trying to use the former bug on the TP whereas you could avoid huge listing fees by using a low offering price and thus avoid a high fee ?
For those of you not knowing…this bug was there for a long time, but had been fixed since (I believe) the september patch 2014
Your Inventory and Tradepost panels are on the the same area of your screen. You got the item and wanted to see the price. You right clicked and selected ‘Sell this Item…’ and then you clicked again before the Trade post loaded. You cursor happened to be where the ‘Sell Instantly’ button is and the game registered your click here as the TP was loading. Because the click was registered before any prices had been loaded in, the game automatically sold it for the vendor price of an Exotic quality ‘non-gear’ item. ‘Sell Instantly’ button doesn’t have a confirm message. I know this is exactly what happened b/c I’ve done it a couple times myself, while I was flipping and in a hurry.
The lesson to be learned here is: when you want to check the price of an item from your inventory, click the ‘Buy More…’ button instead of sell, slow down on your clicking, drag your Inventory and BLTP panels to opposite sides of the screen (this is what I did as an easy fix after the second time I did this), or open the TP manually to check sell prices.
If your panels aren’t stacked, then I’d assume the TP was loading slow and you clicked in the middle of the loading screen (as I’ve seen many people do to ‘hurry it up’ :/) and that is exactly where the ‘Sell Instantly’ button is. Either way, bad timing/placement on the secondary click. Sorry that happened though.

Yeah the TP doesn’t load quickly for me….ever. Ive often griped about my connection around here, so maybe that’s my issue. I’m not silly enough to randomly click around while I’m waiting on things to load. I’m well aware that its a good way to screw yourself over. That’s not precisely Anet’t fault.
The lesson to be learned here is: when you want to check the price of an item from your inventory, click the ‘Buy More…’
Not necessarily. The biggest mistake I’ve made was doing that and accidentally buying 3 of something expensive at the lowest seller price.
The main lesson is to take your time, especially when the TP is lagging.

Yay, I’m glad you got a good result out of this, OP.

Currently just under 100g though, doing a bit better now
Evidently you get it back at a hell of a pace, too!

You may be correct that there is NOTHING for YOU to learn here…. I guess invoking the term “character builder” is a lost cause here.
Note that I’m not trying to be mean, but the minute you convince yourself you can’t learn something from EVERYTHING that happens in your life, you loose all hope of improving yourself.
