Just ding level 80, what armor and where?
Exotic is a Rarity tier. There are all kinds of items that are considered “Exotic” Not all of them are weapons/armor.
However, you’re correct. You want Exotic Armor/Weapons.
All Exotics will have the Same Amount of stats on them. The numbers will be the same. The thing that will be different is Which stats the armor will have (power vs. Precision, etc.) I’d take a look at this and decide on what stats you want first.
As for how to get them… You have 5 options.
1. You can run Dungeons. It takes on average 4 runs of an exploreable mode dungeon to get a single piece of armor. Keep in mind that’s assuming you’re running a new path each time. Since there are only 3 paths per dungeon, that means you can only do 3 dungeon runs a day and get “Full” rewards from them, so it may take you a week or more of doing dungeons to get full Exotic gear here.
2. You can spend your Karma in Orr. There are Karma vendors in each of the “Temples” in the Orr maps. They sell exotic armor. this is a good guide on those.
3. You can buy your armor off of the Trading Post. Prices can range from 2 gold to 10 gold depending on how rare/impressive the look/stats are on that piece of armor.
4.You can hope that the Exotic armor you want drops off of mobs. It’s possible, but don’t do this. It’s a VERY small % chance.
5. You can go play WvW. There is a set of WvW exotic armor (called the Invaders set) Which you can trade in your Badges of Honor for. It takes A LOT of badges for this armor. Like, seriously, a lot. If you only casually do WvW, you won’t be able to afford any anytime soon.
Honestly, if you just hit 80, I’d reccomend you go buy a set of Rare gear off the trading post, and use that to farm for your Exotic armor. Far more cost effective, and you can do pretty much anything in the game wearing nothing but Rare armor.

Thank you so much , these are really helpful information!!
Crafting is also an option for exotic armor, weapons, or accessories, depending on which crafting skills you’ve chosen. Level 400 required for lvl 80 exotics.
Map zone completion of the higher level zones will usually give you 2 exotic pieces. They may or may not be something your character can use, but you can at least sell them on the TP if you can’t use them.
If you are needing some stepping-stone weapons until you get exotic ones, the cultural weapon vendors sell yellow/rare quality weapons for Karma. Definitely buy some rare quality gear to upgrade from blues & greens in the meantime.
