Hi,

Haven’t played for over a year, and decided to come back and play again. So, I’m totally out of the loop.

1 What’s happened to the portals in Lion’s Arch? I used to take those to home cities all the time. Have they been moved to somewhere else, or are there no portals anywhere near Lion’s Arch?

2. Doing daily stuff. I recognized some stuff from before, but after getting 3/5 with the Kills, gathering, leveling, I was stuck. What the heck is the Mist daily stuff? Is that a new place? If so, where is it and how do I get there? What is ‘Activity Participation’? I was in events etc. and it didn’t seem to count.

3. One more question about Karma gear. IIRC there were a couple of vendors for this that you needed to get waypoints for somewhere. That is, take them over. Are these still the only vendors of good gear for Karma, or are there others now?

TIA. I’m sure to have more questions, but getting back to my home cities are the priority right now.

2. There is a really good page on the wiki that explains the daily. For your particular question, the “Mists” thing refers to things in WvW and the Activity Participation is for the minigames that you can play such as Sanctum Sprint or Crab Toss.
3. The NPCs that you’re referring to are the karma vendors at the temples in Orr, the only karma vendors that sell exotic armor. That is still the case.

The new LA is Vigils keep. It’s in the top right of Gendarren Field. There you can find the services, including the portals, except for crafting. For crafting you will need to go to a racial city. To get to Vigils you can go to the PvP area and take what is still named the Lions Arch portal.

The activities are at Vigil also. Head south towards the red circle on the minimap. There are crossed flags showing where the activities NPC is standing.

Some useful sites for temples (for karma armor), farming and events. You will need to select your server.

They’re “rebuilding” Lion’s arch, if you go in you see workers working…however, the event ended pretty recently and it’s a Living World, they can’t just make it what it was before immediately.

Vigil’s Keep is not hard to get to. Click the crossed swords icon on your menu bar, it’s the PvP icon. Click “Go to the Heart of the Mists”. Once inside, take the asura portal that says Lion’s Arch. It will drop you right in Vigil Keep.

As far as the temple karma vendors go, bookmark this website:

They will tell you when a specific temple is open on a specific server and you can guest to that server when you see the temple open.

Watch this is order and you’ll get a half decent idea whats been happening living story wise

Yep, thanks. I did go to Mists and found the portal there.

Now I just have to try to remember, or look up, where all the zones are compared to the home cities.

Can you guys tell me at what time the daily resets? I was playing last night, and dailies had reset, I was back to 0/5. Why don’t they reset at like 2am or something?

Reset happens at 5pm server time. To find the server time go into options, general options, to ingame clock, change to server time.

Server time is Pacific Time in the USA, the region where ANet is based. As to why it’s 5pm PT and not midnight PT? Who knows.

I’m 0/2 in getting the daily done since I got back, but now have a much better feel for what’s required and how to do the stuff. I’ll give it a real go tonight after 5pm.

Nah….go out of the North LA exit (only one left….the NE one is blocked now) and just follow the road north. Might run into some pirates in the small village but you should be able to get around them without a fight if you are too low level.

OR (as mentioned above), you can just go thru PvP area by Entering the Mists and then exiting the portal (that SAYS it goes to Lions Arch…..it goes to Vigil Keep area now). BTW, that can get you from anywhere to main hub for free….

Hey BG. If you see 3 posts above yours, I said I found it by going to Mists. Thanks for the clarification though.

And, if I may, I have another question.

I deposited my stuff to my collection yesterday from my backpack, but some Copper Ore stayed there. Does that mean I’m maxed out in my collection? What is the max of an item in a collection?

I hope you don’t mind if I continue to use this thread to ask questions.

While there is a collection expander in the gem store, the regular stack max in collections is 250 of something. You can either sell it or craft copper or bronze bars, or move it over to regular inventory on the other tab, or make a personal guild and get enough influence to get a vault and use that for storage of non account/soul bound items.

Thanks. What I did was sell the extra copper ore which gave me a nice bit of cash. Yeah, I’d forgotten that I had started a Guild and don’t know if I have enough influence yet to get a Vault.

However, I’m now using GW2 wiki and will probably not have any more questions here.

BTW: Bought the rare Rifle for my Warrior with 63K Karma last night as it was a good upgrade.

You shouldn’t need to do WvW or activities for your daily achievement. I did them for months without ever touching those things. For using the Mystic Forge (an often occurent dialy ach) a cheap option is to put major runes into it, rather than weapons or armor. The mystic forge is also found now in Vigil Keep in Gendarran Fields, where are the city portals are.

Then there’s usually stuff like veteran slayer or champion slayer, both of which could easily be done in Queensdale if you don’t have too much of the map completed.

Thanks. Yeah, it’s 5pm for me, which is quite convenient actually. I have the evening to get the daily done. I’m going to see if I can do the monthly too this month.

What are ‘Skins’? And why should I care about them?

Ahh. Like Transmog in WoW. Then I don’t care about them.

Be careful about spending Karma because they Devs have made it MUCH more difficult to obtain than it used to be (I am a bit above a casual player and had about 1.5 million karma at one point). I suggest you save it.

Buying one weapon now and again as you level up isn’t a big deal, but it’s a huge waste to spend it on armor you will outgrow in 10 levels. Now that I think about it, after the update on April 15th, spending karma on a set of armor or weapon you REALLY like the look of will NOT be a waste as once you equip it, you will be able to apply that look to any character’s weapon or armor from that point on.

Don’t worry, I only spent Karma on level 80 rare and 4 exotics. I did gasp at the cost of a green piece from a heart verndor on a lower level toon. 562? That’s almost a daily’s worth!
