I was reading up on names and wanted to confirm something.
Are character names shared across all servers?

If you find a name you want is taken on one server, it will be reserved on every server? And there is no point to try another server?

Names are game wide, since you can transfer servers.

Yes, names are game-wide.

However, you can have spaces in your name. So while maybe you can’t be “Tim”, you could try to be “Tim the Tiny”, “Tim Timmers”, et cetera.

Yep so all those names you had planned, I wouldn’t bet my left tooth you can use them. Some names will be avaiable because players have deleted their characters (after the 1 day reservation) and also the guild wars reserved names will be cancelled. AWESOME NAMES TO COME!!!

Yeah I have been suprised that some of my favorite names are taken. Ones that I have been able to get on every other MMO I play because they are not popular names.

GW1 names were reserved so players could keep the names they made and be able to use them on GW2, soon the reserved name register will be deleted and any name names not used will be available for any new GW2 characters.
