Q:
Keg Brawl
I’m trying to figure it out as well. I nearly have all the achievements for the title but this one. :’( Any enlightenment on this would be great.
Yes, I would like to know that as well
If it’s anything like basketball or hockey, etc, I imagine it involves passing the keg to a teammate who then scores. My experience with kegbrawl is that it’s a cluster(word) of people spamming KDs and interrupts on one another, so the odds of being able to actually throw a pass, much less make it, are incredibly low. Unlike basketball, fouls are encouraged. Which subsequently makes it harder to do things like this.
The thing is I have actually passed in the game (the rare occasion I am able to). Both short pass and long pass, in neither situation have I got an assist point. The only thing I can think of is that ppl have to pass to you, but that is never going to happen it seems :’(
I should also mention that the people I have passed too have also scored with the keg I gave them.
I believe it is like football/soccer where you give the last pass which leads directly to another player scoring.
the only sure fire way I know of is in the pre-game when theres a bunch of kegs lying around, throwing one of those to a team mate gets you an assist about 90% of the time, I’ve gotten a few assists in game but they are few and far between. I’ve tried manipulating the distance of the pass, used skill 1 and 2, passes that lead to scores, etc with little to no results. Only in the pre-game kegs do I have much luck, at time of writing im at 55/100 keg assists.
Update: I think I’ve figured it out now, and its not going to be easy. The fault lies within the player RECEIVING the pass, they must score with a “shot” and not a hand-in. I just got two pop-up notifies during my last game, and both times the player i threw to was not within talking distance / hand-in distance of the goal keep and instead made a shot to score. Using 1 based on the character throw animation. I haven’t tested this with a friend as none of them want to play keg brawl, so if someone is intrested in testin with me just add my posting name to friends list and send me a tell in game.

This is correct. The player you pass the keg to must also score by passing or throwing the keg to the ale collector. If they interact with him to turn it in it will not count as an assist.
Also, on the subject of Keg Brawl, recoveries are the hardest achievement for me to get actually because of the camera-angle far tossing. Until it gets fixed it seems every game there are multiple people throwing the keg across the whole map. It’s pretty much impossible to stop. I can pretty reliably throw the kegs to the ale collector from where they drop 80% of the time doing it if I so wanted…. It really needs to be “fixed” because until then Keg Brawl is really, really broken.
If I stand in front of you I bet you wont make 80%. The number of assists and recoveries needs to be reduced for the achievement by about 100 – 200. Please address this Anet as the fun is quickly going down hill as I try to get these last 2 slots filled.
Also realize there is a time limit for assist credit that starts from the time you throw it to your teammate until the time he turns it in. This may be the thing you guys are overlooking in your observations.
For example me and a teammate grabbed a barrel mid field and ran it all the way back to the boss passing it the whole time back and forth, she handed it in manually and I obtained 3 assists.
That said, the numbers still need to be reduced greatly for assists and recovers.
