Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone! I have been playing this game for a while now..just wanted some better suggestions for keyboard layout/bindings. I play with WASD, but my fingers are shifted and that’s just how I learned to play. I currently have my pinky finger on a, ring finger on w and use my middle finger on d, pressing some skills with my index finger. I want to know some good suggestions to fit around where my hand is. I just have a regular mouse and keyboard, nothing special.
Q&E as turn left and turn right and r as dodge (Willing to change dodge)

It sounds like you should just change WASD to ESDF and rebind keys around that.

Unbind the two turn buttons for a start. You should never use them, always turn with the mouse.

I have dodge on the mouse middle button – having said that, I use a Razer Naga with thumb buttons and I bind the strafe and fwd keys to the thumb pad too. With all movement keys on the dominant hand (mouse) I have finer control over movement and my keyboard is completely free for skills.

Skills are 1,2,3,4,5,6,q,w,e,r.
Autorun is on t.

I also repeat-bind a second dodge to ‘v’ so that I can hit dodge and jump (spacebar) together with my thumb. (Jump/dodge is a useful trick to learn.)

With this setup I don’t have to move my hand on the keyboard at all so I don’t have positioning issues and can play without taking my eyes of the screen.

None of this is Gospel of course – just for hints.

To be honest, this is something you should solve on your own. Sure contiguous posted a nice guideline but at the end it is more important to use what works for you. I play for example with 12345 ‘R’ ‘Q’ ‘E’ ‘Shift+R’ having Shift also bound to stow the weapon or
some people like to move with asd (and using mouse 1 + mouse 2 to move forwards) instead of wasd giving them another easily accessible key for something else.

I think it’s best to experiment yourself. I doubt any 2 people have the same set-up.

My keyboard set-up is a constant work in progress because I just keep looking out for things I find awkward and then moving them. Sometimes I realise I expect the key to be somewhere in particular, sometimes it’s a matter of trial and error and sometimes I have a ‘eureka’ moment, like when I realised using the number pad for my skills with other combat keys around it would be much easier.
