Killing Mordremoth
I’m not sure, I haven’t done it for a while and I’ve never soloed it. With more people around there’s less chance the rock will come at you and if it does, other people can finish the fight. (I have never opened the instance myself so I haven’t dealt with dying and then my friends being unable to finish because only the opener can do the rifts and final blow). But there should be something you can do? Maybe spin on your axis or even hit the turn-around hot key so you’re suddenly going the other direction. Maybe dodge now and then, rock or no rock, in order to go stealthy if you have that mastery. Or tap your space bar to drop below the rock and instantly tap it again to keep gliding.
These are just brainstorming, I don’t know if there’s any definitive answer.
I did the fight over a month ago, but when I got to the gliding part there was a branch up high that I could get to and land on. I found it during the first gliding segment and used it to wait things out. When the second gliding segment began, I was able to get up there again, and when he started hurling rocks at me they couldn’t hit me on the branch.
If you can’t get up there or it’s been patched since, the best bet is probably to drop as Donari suggests, that would be the fastest way to change your position and avoid a thrown rock while gliding. You might be able to do it by varying between the lean forward and pull back using Lean Techniques to throw him off as well. But landing on the high branch should be the easiest route.
I only have simple gliding and updraft learnt yet, but I’ve found out how to do it finally:
On the west side of the platform (near the shady dragon head) there are 3 updrafts that are farther away from the boss, I used those 3 only because that way the rocks have a longer travel time therefore I had more time for moving out of their way.
But your brainstorming gave me the idea so thx for that, and I also hope it helps others having a hard time with this.
