Guild Wars 2

Hey guys, I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 now for a little while but mostly only my story, and WvW. I’m just wondering if you guys can give me some tips on what kind of other stuff their is to do, and basically help give me a better understanding of the game. Every comment and suggestion would be gladly appreciated.

Not much…
WvW and FOTM is the only things I still see going on with a regular “player base” behind them.

I haven’t seen a single guild yet that does Dynamic Events, and very very few left that do dungeons (which you’re definitely not prepared for yet until you get a full set of either Vitality or DPS exotics)

Some guilds do do dynamic events. Some go for world completion. There are guild missions. Some guilds still run dungeons. I know this because the guild I’m in does all that (and relatively little of anything else). We’re not a PvP guild, we’re a PvE guild. So it depends on what you want to do.

And a lot of people do the living story content. And a lot don’t. There’s a ton of stuff to do, but whether you like it or not depends on how you’re wired.

Off the top of my head:

Map completion. Some people do it just for the achievement and/or the Gifts to put towards a legendary weapon, but others do it because they want to see everything, do all the hearts etc. You’ll see/do a lot of the dynamic events along the way as well.

Find and complete the jumping puzzles and explorer achievements.

Dungeons. Yes there are still people who do them, on my server (Desolation) I often see people forming groups for all of them. I assume there are guilds that do them too but it’s harder to know because obviously they’d organise that amongst themselves.

SPvP. Can’t tell you anything about it because I haven’t done it yet, but I’m sure you can figure it out.

Fractals of the Mists. This could come under Dungeons since it technically is one but it works a bit differently, mainly in that it’s repeatable with different levels and gets harder the higher you go. To get above 10 or so you’ll near Ascended items with Agony Resistance though.

Join a guild and do guild missions. Contrary to popular belief they can be done by small guilds/groups. My guild usually has about 10-15 people doing them and the only things we struggle with are some of the challenges. And I think that’s mainly because our tactics are pretty much “Quick! Hit it with fire!” and they really need a bit more coordination than that. Alternatively you can join a big guild that can expect to have large numbers on for any mission.

And then of course there’s the monthly updates with new content. Right now we’ve got Dragon Bash, which you can read about on the main website or the wiki. Next month there will be something else, don’t know what but it will start on or just after the 9th.
