So I’ve been seeing everybody say “Kitteny” lately for some reason. What’s it mean?

It’s the forum’s weird filter. Apparently every swear turns into kitten.

These forums operate a profanity filter which replaces certain words which you should not be using in polite society with the word “kitten”

You might therefore say something like “I don’t give a kitten!”.
In that sentence kitten could have been one of several replaced words or it might have been typed as kitten (as I did) by someone who is aware of the filter.

Is there any way to remove this filter? It’s getting quite annoying.
It says “bad language” on the box, please give me an option to remove the filter.

Any word which is considered not approriate is replaced by the word “kitten”. It produces some hilarious kitten comments.

It should be optional.

I’ve actually taken to typing ‘kitten’ instead of swearing in my posts. Mostly because it makes me giggle.

I was not aware of this, I assumed the new profanity bans caught on like wildfire and it was cool to say kitten in place of one particular word I had in mind.

This is far more hilarious.

Seeming as this a forum, where stuff is posted permanently, unless other wise edited by the poster or a mod, there is no way to have an optional filter.

I think you need to go find a kitten.

Then you need to sit the kitten down.

And shut the kitten up.

I love the kitten censor, makes rage posts so much fun to read (and I’m another one that keeps typing “kitten” on his posts as well)..

Actually reminds me of the WoW forums one april’s fools day that they changed it so it added things like “pew pew laz0rs” “pwned n00b” “!!!11oneoneeleven!!” randomly to all posts… the forums were hilarious that day, specially the people that kept posting complaining that they hadn’t written like that..

Really?

I don’t think the devs are trying to protect us adults from swear words…but you have to realize that you are probably a lot of kids playing this game too. And their parents would probably like to avoid exposing them to the constant filth that tends to permeate internet forums.

I wish they used this filter in-game

lol i get one infraction for say the last mission is stupidly hard and dont worthy the effort of time and money. and a sadly end. well maybe i get another infraction report for this. this is kitten ridiculous

At lease some of us can converse without needing to drop kittens all over the kitten place.

I’ll admit I love the filter as it makes me smile- before I realized it was a filter I was deeply confused at everyone’s severe love for kittens on the guild wars forums…. I eventually blew it off as an internet meme thing with cats and people being funny but after some more reading it dawned on me that it could be a filter doing it.

Gamers are not too mature, Hench all the “Kitten” references on here.
