Least played Guardian race?
Charr and Asura seem to be the least played across all classes. Not as sure about gender.

It’s an educated guess but I’d say probably a female asura.
Male characters are more common than female and if I remember correctly (and it hasn’t changed much since I saw the stats) the races in order from most to least popular go Human, Norn, Sylvari, Charr, Asura.
But also Guardians, maybe even more than Warriors, suit the architype of a big, burly fighter standing there absorbing or blocking damage and then dealing it out with huge weapons. And that suits the bigger races and male stereotypes.
Add on the fact that the asura are generally known for being casters rather than fighters which a lot of people seem to like sticking to and I think asura guardians would be pretty rare.
That said it’ll be countered by people like me – I made a female asura guardian specifically because I loved the idea of this tiny little girl holding off entire mobs with a huge sword.

@Danikat, great choice!
I made a female Norn Guardian, just a pretty girl with here GIANT sword
One question though, isn’t it hard to see what your Asura is doing in an event? (i’m serious, ‘cause i’m thinking about making my own Asura but i’m scared that i will not be able to see what i’m doing)

My eyes tell me differently in Crystal Desert. I see them EVERYWHERE. Especially dem Charr players.
PvE Main – Zar Poisonclaw – Daredevil
WvW Main – Ghost Mistcaller – Herald
I was in a party where we had 3 asuran guardians. I’d say they’re not that uncommon!

I think it is easier to play as an Asura than Norn or Charr specifically during jumping puzzles. My camera always messes up when I play on my Norn and I have yet to do many jumping puzzles on her because of that. On my Asura, I get through them really quickly.
During events, I think I can see myself fairly easily. If you have trouble with seeing yourself though, you can dye your armor some neon color.
female charr is probably the least popular

You should be fine. My main is an Asura and I have no problems knowing where I am at all times even when big burly Charrs are all up in my bubble. The only time where it’s difficult is during the holiday JPs when you have a big player right behind you (there are workarounds to that) but the JPs seem easier because of your size you can make more precise jumps.
Don’t be afraid of playing Asura, they’re such a fun race to be with their floppy ears and geeky quips.
Thanks Zero and Lite, one Asura is coming up

Asura Guardians are so cliché.
Just like Gnome Warriors/Paladins in WoW, they’re everywhere because people think they’re being unique and clever by tanking with such a little character.
Do you even lift, bro?
I settled with a female charr thanks for all the replies
I see this is pretty much closed but as an additional note for interest, I looked it up here: http://gw2census.com/charts.php?pie=charprofession-Guardian÷=charrace
The GW2 Census depends on data submitted to it so it’s not complete by any means, but it does back up the idea that charr guardian is the least common guardian (followed by sylvari, interesting!). Charr guardians are also supposed to be very unusual in the lore. Have fun with it! (I also have a female charr guardian… protective feminist legionnaire ftw!).
@Curuniel – thanks for linking that you’ve made may list of ‘GW2-related work distractions’ even longer now

Well on my Sylvari Guardian, I’m yet to come across another, even less so another female. Infact Sylvari seem to be rare outside of the forest I find.
