Very new player here and loving the game, I was just wondering which is the least played class and race and which seems to be the most played class and race?

I usually play the underdog of the popularity of classes :-)

least played race is probably norn, it’s hard to say what the least played class is but it isn’t thiefs, guardians or warriors

least played class as far as I can tell seems to be engineer, I don’t see many of them around

I know mesmer is the least played class, I’m usually the only one in groups and pvp.

I dunno about that. There are a ton of Norns where I play. Might depend on which server you’re on too.

Least played class? I’d guess necros. I see some around. You can’t miss them…all trailing that army of minions. But not many.

I feel like each class and race is pretty well represented. From my own anecdotal evidence, I don’t see a lot of rangers. I expected to see a lot more since there is usually a lot of the hunter type class.

Necros are pretty low in numbers because they are bugged all to hell and minions are 100% worthless. I actually see more Mezmers than Necros.

In fact, sombody on reddit make a poll, and the results are that the least played race is Charr.
The least played class was Mesmer.
However, this poll has just 8 000 voters.

8000 is actually very good for a forum poll. I dont see why there arent less Elementalists. They are a very hard class to play with all the attunements you have to use and being very squishy.

Race probably char, class probably engi.. There are so many Mesmers now it is not even funny. So how they are the least played is beyond me. In PvP all i see is mesmers, thief’s and Warriors.

I just can’t play a Charr and people I’ve talked to, who played GW have agreed with me about playing a Charr. In the first game, we played against them, they killed our characters ancestors and made a stab at killing us and so it hard to be a character who, as one of their first quests, is supposed to kill Ascalonians.

Yes there are bugs with minions (sometimes not attacking your target) but so far i’m having a blast with mine.
Better control over the minions & fixing the not attacking bug would make for a better experience. I would say minions are (because of the chance that they dont attack) 50% worthless.
Rushing your flesh golem over a trail of enemies (10+) knocking them down is always fun in WvW, same for 8v8 spvp (so far max 5 in a row knocked down)

Are you 80?

I come across Charr and Norn a lot less often than I come across Humans, Sylvari and Asura.

Although that might be because I played an Asura and have been travelling from the left of the map towards the right where the Charr and Norn are. So if Charr and Norn players are doing the same (right towards left) than it would make sense that I haven’t met many of them.

As for professions I would say I come across Engineers and Mesmers less often than any of the other professions.

The problem with picking the underdog is, what if who the underdog is changes? Personally I think it’s far more reliable to just go with what you actually like.

I play a Norn and I’ve seen quite a few in the lower level areas, might just be which server you’re on; and I probably see Asura the least.

As for classes, Mesmer/Engineer are least played from what I’ve seen so far.

Yes i am 80.

On our server, prolly Norn is least played (I play a Norn). Hoelbrak is never instanced while all of the other race’s cities are.

I see tons of mesmers. Prolly run into them more than not. But I rarely see engineers.

I also play a norn on my server, he is now a level 63 Guardian and that’s the only reason that I stick with him because to be honest, playing Human sized characters or Asura feels much more dynamic, my reasons being that the animations are smoother, walking/running and atacking feels way more satisfying then with a norn, who seems to be in slow motion All the time and some camera glitches don’t really help . But there are a couple of reasons to enjoy being a Norn:
1 – When you’re the only norn in a group, you feel really imposing ^^ .
2 – Awsome looking cultural armour that coupled with the gigantic size, makes up for some swag

I love Norns. I don’t really care about racial ability, and I don’t even know what mine is but I really dislike the other races. All humans look like females, Charrs are OKAY, Asura are weird, the leaf people are even weirder.

I have a norn necrimancer. I haven’t seen another though there surely are some. When I play him in any other race’s area, I don’t see other norn often at all.

Just so u know in pvp every1 is 80 lol. I play necro and not rushing with level, cuz at my lvl 36 I can pvp as much as I can. WvW on necro is a blast for sure. Bone minion is so cool, especially knock down whole crowd of people. And necro circles with staff do alot of stuff that helps your allies and screws your enemies. And you can do decent midranged damage with axe. Only thing that minions act more like cats and do what they want sometimes, sometimes they kill mob by themselves while you running around doing nothing. Sometimes they refuse to attack lol. In pvp you not gonna run full minion build anyway, you have so much fields and transformations and other cool stuff to chose from.
And omg Norn women have best boobs ingame! How come they are least played race? 0o I personnaly have asura necro as main toon, norn mesmer for arena pvp fun and charr engineer for WvW sieges (canons rock). I dunno is it me or Charr Engi runs kinda slow though, can’t find any skill that will improve speed cept that random elic skill, that doesn’t always apply run speed boon 0o
Looked up the pole, Charr Mesmer female is what I’ve created first, but then those pink butterflies with her brutality just don’t fit so badly so I’ve recreated to Norn Charr engi on the other hand looks like great combination, cuz Charrs specialized on all kind of gunsmith and stuff. Asura more like magic professions, they mention in one of story quest that Asura possess more magic than any other race.

Haha yes!! Norn women do absolutley have theee best breastisisss. Ive made my norn necro a woman and named her succubusty lol :P
