Do you have to farm dungeons and fractals to get the right materials to craft a Legendary Weapon ?

The only required dungeon is the dungeon from which your legendary’s gift is linked to.

For example, I’m making The Minstrel. The Gift of The Minstrel requires Gift of the Nobleman, which can only be obtained by trading in 500 tokens from Caudecus’ Manor. Each legendary weapon has a component like that, one you obtain by trading in 500 tokens from a certain dungeon. You can check which legendary needs which gift on the wiki.

Otherwise, dungeons are not required, though they help in that they pay well when done with a good group.

yes to farming dungeons but it depends what dungeon it is you have to farm. Say for instance, I am going for the legendary ‘incinerator’. I would need a sum of 500 CoF tokens for my gift of baelfire. As for fract, that one is up to you. I say this because you can farm fract for your obsidian shards or you can get a 525k karma and go to the karma vendor at the temple of balthazar and buy it there instead. Of course you will need more obby shards for your clovers but you get the picture. As for Mats.. Anet have released ‘gilded coffers’, which you get from killing champs and could give you a sum of t5 and t6 mats.(level 70 Mobs plus) phew.. hope I helped you.

You can get 60 tokens from running that dungeons “daily” path for the first run of the day, then 20 tokens for every additional or different run after that. It will likely be one of the shortest grinds you have to on your way to a legendary.

You get 40 tokens account-wide on the first completion of any path (each path will reward the 40 tokens).

Each path will also reward 20 tokens before DR hits (DR will hit from running the path multiple times on the same character).

Thus, it’s possible to get 180 (or 240 in Arah’s case, but highly recommended against doing) in a single day without “farming” the dungeon.

Then focus on your clovers as they will provide you with a lot of t6 mats. Never farm your mats, farm gold instead. Do your dailies/monthly for laurels and save your jugs of karma and use them all at once while enjoying the +50% karma booster you likely acquired and then smartly saved while finishing off your map completion.

Use a Karma Booster + Banner (Preferably Karma + Experience Banner or Heroes Banner for the 10% instead of 5% from Karma Banner) + Guild Karma Boost + Ice Cream + (if you have the excess Laurels) Karmic Infusion. This will get you 95% Karma Boost without counting your achievement points.

The worst part is the tier 6 mats and whatever lodestones your weapon requires. I’m making meteorlogicus, and I ended up buying the charged lodestones. Get in on the new champ zerg for knowledge scrolls (skill points), t6 mats, and gold!

A little tip: salvaging globs of ectoplasm produces 1-5 crystalline dust. If you’re able, complete every world boss every day for the mini chest and salvage your rares for globs. You’re going to need hundreds of globs for mystic clovers, for one of the gifts, and use the leftovers for dust.
