I just hit level 80.

Now, I’ve been wanting to ask some questions on here that I’ve had in my brain for a while…

1. What’s the best armor? I’ve heard of exotic, cultural (cultural looks really cool), masterwork, armor sold from karma vendors, armor gotten from badges of honor, etc. I’m not sure about it. Is there legendary armor?

2. Now that I’m level 80, what is the best way to make gold? I’ve heard of people making 7+ gold/hr (:O)!

3. What is the name of the legendary pistol and dagger weapon?

I’ll be editing this post as more questions come to me, thanks!

1.)
The best armor is exotic rarity armor. Various methods of acquisition exist for gathering exotic armor. Among them are many you listed; karma vendors, WvW badges, crafting, random drops, dungeon sets, and many more I can’t think of at the moment.

There is no Legendary armor…yet

2.)
The trade post, but if you want to actually play GW2, then I would imagine dungeons are pretty profitable.

3.)
Pistol: Quip
Dagger: Incinerator

1) The order in armor quality goes:
White (normal), Blue (fine), Green (Masterwork), Yellow (Rare), Orange (Exotic), with some Pink (Ascended) currently available through the mystic forge recipes and the fractals of the mist dungeon. Note that not all skins are available in all quality levels, you will need to use transmutation stones (fine transmutation stones for lvl 80 gear) to get one appearance with the stats of something else.

2) Earning gold can be done in lots of ways, a few do trade post merchant work, which earns a tonne but is very intensive. Most I would guess do dungeon runs to make money. Farming enemies in lvl 80 zones is currently not that effective.

3) The legendary pistol is called Quip, the dagger is known as incinerator. Make sure you read up on the wiki their animations and looks to ensure they are for you.

Cheers,
Berk

Where would I go about getting exotic armor?

edit: Oh, and I’m a Thief, so I wear medium armor.

Some will be sold on the Trading Post, or you could learn to craft it. You can spend karma in Orr at the temples for 42K karma per item. I am also a Thief and went for a full Lyssa temple set, then transmuted the uglier bits.

http://dulfy.net/2012/09/08/gw2-templegod-karma-armor-sets/ will tell you which temples have which stat sets; the look of the gear is the same at every temple.

You can get exotic armor for dungeon tokens as well. I hear one can get a full set within a week if one really applies oneself to the dungeon runs (explorable paths). I’ve only gotten a few pieces for looks so far, being very casual about chewing through content. Check the vendors in south Lion’s Arch (a line of them just south of the big bridge), the second tab in the armor window of each will be the exotic armor so you can check prices, stats, and looks before choosing which dungeon to farm.

“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”

Is Assassin’s armor exotic or rare?

It is rare. Would need fine transmutation stones and the exotic with the stats you want to get assassin’s armor with exotic stats.

Alrighty. What I think I’m going to do is get some exotic armor and transmute it over to the looks of the Order of Whispers outfit.

One last questions – are there tiers for weaponry? Currenly I have masterwork dagger and pistols, is there a way I could get better?

Not tiers for weaponry at the same level with the same grade, if that’s what you’re talking about. A level 80 required Masterwork is the best Masterwork you can get. There is no other ‘Tier’ of Masterwork.

The better gear for you now is Rare and Exotic items.

Cheers.

Just to clarify what Lankybrit said, lvl 80 is the max level a weaponry you can get. That said, weapons follow a similar line to armour of: White<Blue (Fine)<Green (Masterwork)<Yellow (Rare)<Orange (Exotic)</=Purple (Legendary). Note that a green may be better than say a rare depending on their respective levels. Currently legendaries are equal to exotic, and will be bumped to ascended class later when ascended weapons begin to appear.
