Level colour
Purple is when it is higher level than you, green is the opposite.
I’m not sure what is the level difference to trigger those color indicators, but that is the reason.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
It depends on the difference in level, to show whether you could take them in a fight.

They go through several colors based on your level difference:
-8 or more is Grey
-7 to -6 is Green
-5 to -4 is Light Green
-3 to -2 is Greenish White
-1 to +1 is White
+2 to +3 is Light Pink
+4 to +5 is Pink
+6 to +7 is Light Red
+8 is Red
+9 is Deep Red
+10 or more is Magenta

Not that you see them too often.
Only in cities players are around together without scaling. In other places you get scaled near enemy level and rarely see greater color differences.

Try going to orr on a level 2 character, I promise you that you will see a lot of magenta
