Hello.
Since the beginning I am facing one problem – the storyline quests keep outleveling me. I am playing elementalist asura, now have got 13 level. To get this level I had to finnish all the ‘hearts’ (even these with greater level). So I am out of ‘hearts’ right now – the main source (for me) of exp. I got like 70% of vistas and PoI unlocked. Tell me please – what am I doing wrong!

Your meant to do events craft (both gathering and crafting) WvW etc as well as just hearts (hearts are unlockable venders and event guides IMO).

I was having this same problem leveling up. I was doing fine up until around lvl 9 then I didnt really know what to do so I was just running around redoing events.

I didnt play in the beta so I didnt know what to expect from the game or the details all over. But I found that doing WvW when I found myself in an area where the “Quests” out-leveled me seemed to help equalize the leveling process.

Also make sure you hang around at the end of a world event to make sure that there isnt a follow-up event. You may be missing out on some extra xp and items by leaving the area as soon as an event is finished.

I cannot comment on crafting and gathering because I have not explored them yet.

Some advice I can offer you, is to also go explore the other races’ starting areas, and do those hearts and poi’s/dynamic events. It will level you up pretty quick. This is the way I did it, and I didn’t pick up crafting during this time. If you do each different area up to your current level’s worth of activities, then you’ll discover that you’ll have no problem leveling!

P.S. To get to those other areas, you can use the purple Asura portals located in each major city and it will take you to Lion’s Arch. From there, you just pick another portal you want to go to, and you’re as good as there!

Recommend doing gathering and crafting. hey really helped me out when lvling my warrior.

Gathering and crafting is good to keep up as you go along but also to look for hidden areas and puzzles. Another thing you might want to think about with the events is that there are chains. So if you stick around once you finished one event there is usually another one starting that you can go with again.
So far my experience is that WWW is the largest source of XP if you have a good group to go with.

You get a really nice chunk of xp and coin for completing each area 100%. I’d recommend finishing out your map and also grab some gathering tools and do a bit of crafting if you need it.

If you are still under leveled, take your city’s asura gate and travel to Lion’s Arch. From Lion’s Arch you can then travel to the other major cities in the game. Then find a new starter zone and continue to earn experience. You’ll be leveled to scale in this new starter zone so the content won’t feel boring because you overpower it.
