Edge of the Mist and WvW are decent methods. If it’s your first character, it’s highly recommended NOT to do this. Explore the open world and take your time. You shouldn’t rush because this is your introduction to the game. The game truly starts at level 80.

Just play the game, explore the areas, find points of interests, vistas, waypoints, do heart quests and gather crafting materials … you’ll be at max level before you know it. Leveling comes natural in this game, just by playing .

I’ll second this. After you’ve your first 80 then you can do whatever you want to level up but use the exploration facet of gameplay to also explore your profession(s).

I’d suggest you to explore. There are faster methods such as crafting, but it will cost you ~25g/each profession 0-400. You will also need money to gear at lv 80. If you powerlevel you skip the most interesting parts of game – jumping puzzles, unexpected dynamic event and more. Exploring is very enjoyable, not very fast, but fun. The reason why others use other ways of leveling is because they are bored to explore for the x’th time.

I agree with this 100% Sure you can level fast in EotM or power craft but you will miss a lot amazing experiences that the world has to offer also do the personal story as well it’s good exp and fun!!

BTW welcome to GW2

Don’t rush to 80 on your first character…..learn to play the game properly…PLEASE.

Crafting will give you XP, but it’ll cost you money that you probably don’t have as a new character (check how much here: http://www.gw2crafts.net/total.html , you get about 7 levels for each profesion 0 to 400).

Personally I suggest, as others did, just exploring around. You get a good amount of XP by just doing hears and event, and most of the times you do both at the same time (most events count towards nearby hearts). Also do your personal story as you reach the right level for each step, you also get lots of nice XP and gear that way. As an added bonus, traits are now unlocked by doing a specific event or activity, if your character is new (as in, created after april 15th), it’s a good way to get some unlocked.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
