Leveling in low level zones?
It Doesn’t really matter if you’re up for the grind. However the loot you receive matches the level zone you’re at as well.
I use the mists to level all the time and yes I agree its fun! You’ll just have to work on your map exploration a bit more.
Guildwars2 is really flexible with leveling. There’s no ‘Right’ way to do it. It just depends on what aspect of the game you enjoy the most.

You can level in any zone the experience will be less but you will still level up.
Alternatively you can also move to one of the other level 40-ish zones; Dredge hauntcliffs, Blaze Ridge steps.
The easiest way to get there is to use the Asura portal in your home city or walk there, it is located south of gendarran fields, from there take a portal to one of the other racial home cities.
Also since you’re new, this is an awesome thread to check out: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/OMG-If-you-only-knew-this-tips-for-new-players

I think I’ll just level normally and then when I’m missing a few levels I’ll just do the mist thingy to make up for it.
Thanks!
Have you done the first two dungeon yet? You’re high enough level for story mode on both, and explorable on the first (although you might want some level 80s in your party as some paths can be pretty tough). You should level up at least once on each run.
Ohh I haven’t done that.
When I tried joining a group in the lfg panel they said something about zerking only or whatever. Since then I never bothered joining one.
Yeah, LFG can be difficult like that, and not every group will welcome non-80s, although that tends to be more a problem with explorable than story. You can either try making your own listing, or find a guild to run with. If you’re EU, give me a shout in game, I tend to run story mode from time to time as I have a few alts that haven’t done them yet.
Thank you but I’m in a US server. Just joined a group that was only doing story mode, they were kind enough to show me around. It was very fun and had tons of loots and exp. My only regret is that I could’ve watched all the cut scenes but I don’t want to slow my group.
The game is set up so that you don’t lose anything by visiting lower level maps. Sometime it is even very profitable to go to lower maps since the bags you get on maps drop map level loot and mid materials are really expensive on the tp.
As was pointed out as well there are always several maps at the same level range so if you want you can’t move around easily that way as well.
This game is about exploring. It is not like other mmo’s were you have to move from questnode to questnode to follow the red line. The story behind the game you get in your pesonal story. You should be doing that. It gives you xp and loot and also keys. All stuff in all areas are just building on what you find in your personal story.
This means that there are no wrong way of leveling, or exploring. And yes you can practically level your character up in lvl 1-15 area if you wanted that, because you get downscaled to the level of the region and get the xp for it.
If you open up your map you will find waypoints outside of all the races maintowns. This give you access to their regions and you can go and level there as well.
You should level through events, and more events, and again personal story. Do dungeons, visit world verses world and try that out. You get xp for each cap and each kill as well. jumpingpuzzles, gathering (all that you gather give you xp) crafting (all that you craft give you xp). Join world bosses that are placed all over the world. In Metrica and Caledon there are two more worldbosses. Ulgoth in harati and all the preevents should give you a level more or less each time you go there. Try out the sanctum sprint or the crabtoss or any other activity.
There simply are no rules for what you can and can not do to level. You only miss what you don’t explore.
