So this is a discussion among my gang.

Metal armors and which ones look good. We’ve learned that you can divide dye by material, and some dyes seem to bring out the shine in metal better than others.

For my money, Logan Thackeray seems to have the best looking armor I can think of.

The question is, what color is his armor dyed?

I threw on the cultural armor in preview and tested dyes and my money is on ‘Icing’, but there are so many dyes out there I’m sure there are a bunch I haven’t seen.

Anyone have any ideas? I can tell you for a fact that it is not Silver (although silver does look good).

i think NPCs get special treatment with armors and dyes, as they are special characters. i was looking for the same outfit Zojja has, but i cannot find it. i think its so that NPCs can be distinguishable from regular players.

NPC ’destiny’s edge’ people have t3 cultural gear.. same as you or me have access to.. apart from maybe Caithe, not totally sure though.

As for colours though.. noooooo idea :P

i just wanted to chime in and say, the colouring and armour texture in this game has been done very very well. i have a couple dyes (their names escape me now) and on my heavy armor they look kind of glossy, but not in a cheesy way. still menacing and adds a touch of glory to ‘em. it’s great.

that being said, some of the NPC’s armour (style and dyes) are really great. hoping there is a way to achieve those dyes. will be keeping an eye out!

Yes, Caithe’s armour is Cultural T3 as well. Medium, to be precise.
Zojja’s is Light T3.

Logan’s Armour looks like Burnished Steel, Matte (any white-ish would probably work) and Antique Gold to me.

I would say that Silt and Antique gold after good comparison.

Well I’ll try looking for the right combination, i’ve done it with medium whisper set.

I have gotten very close to Logan’s gear look on my human guardian, heavy cultural T3, wearing Silver dye, and dyeing the tabard antique gold (there aren’t two color slots for the tabard, but antique gold gives you the white background and gold swirls)

I can’t get any closer. Belt is obviously wrong here, I just like brown belt more while Logan is using most likely black.

What armor dyes are you using?

For metal I’ve used Dust and for the cloth parts I used Orange Frost (I think this is the exact same that Logan uses on his tabard). For belt I used Adobe, but since it’s not the same as Logan, just use anything you want. I think his belt is either the one mentioned earlier in the thread (Midnight Gold) or just plain Black.
