Hey guys,

I am looking for an update regarding WvW and PvE. I played the last time in the beginning of HoT but the rumors of a new expansion renewed my love to GW2.
Now, I want to roam in WvW again and at the same time upgrade my gear to ascended. So I am looking for a class which has a good WvW roaming build and a good (Raid/Fractal) PvE build. These builds should use the same stats so I can keep one set of gear. Weapons and small parts could be exchanged. I prefer direct damage over condition damage (mainly because, when I played, the the latter was more a “hit or miss” thing) but I am open for ideas.
If you need even more specifications I would prefer classes in the following order:
Ele
Scrapper
Mesmer
Reaper (has this class enough mobility to roam?)

If you have any ideas, please share them and maybe the builds the class would use.

Also, what is the state of the art in farming ascended gear?

Thanks in advance
Sparone

http://metabattle.com/ is probably the go-to resource for the “recommended” builds for WvW. There are a range of those, so just go browse and choose what you prefer.

For ascended gear, it’s more or less a wash — you can use the fractal or PvP paths, but they require crafting, and are only about 20 percent less expensive than the “normal” crafting path IF you buy all the materials for each approach.

If you have some already, it depends, but I’d suggest http://gw2efficiency.com/ for that — their calculators for crafting will help you figure out the “best” way to get the gear.

If you’re looking to roam in wvw, metabattle probably won’t help you in most cases. I’ve been seeing just about every class roaming now and not just mesmers and thieves like just before HoT. In my experience with reaper, I never had mobility problems or issues with gaining distance despite complaints from the rest of the forums. The only thing I actually wouldn’t recommend is ele since I have personally not seen an effective one for a long long time.

Other than that, pick any class and just practice it.
