So i got back into gw2 bought the expansion boosted a character to 80 got my fractals/open world pve build gear etc but now iam hunting for ascended pieces , i know that now fractals are a lot easier and i droped a ring in the second i did when i got back but i know how to acquire rings/amulets/acessorys but now iam talking about armor , some say its best to craft it ( will take me 36 days to get full ascended armor with tailoring ) some say that you can get it on t2+ fractals ( 15% chance for weapons 30% chance for armor) but iam still kinda lost , can anyone explain me the best way ? thanks

Logon rewards give you laurels, use them to get your Neck and Accessories. use FOTM daily Chests to farm for Rings, Save your FOTM currency for the universal infusion + the upgrade to it, and Attune your rings.

Once you are at FOTM30+ you have a higher chance at armor crates dropping for ascended armor slots.

Do Tequalt for a chance(1% and lower) at a ascended weapon creates daily.

Fractals, specifically tier 2 through 4, have a CHANCE at giving you an ascended piece. However, dont rely on fractals to fully gear out your character, ESPECIALLY if this is the first one you’re gearing with ascended gear. Work on crafting the gear, at least the chest and pants, as the others can drop with relatively high frequency compared to those two.

You should buy ascended rings with pristine fractal relics if possible, if not with laurels. Earrings it’d be best if you could mooch off a guild for them because they are quite expensive with the ectos.

Ascended weapons are a good thing to craft because they provide more of a diffrence than armor does; and armor requires a lot of materials, so that should be prioritized last. I also don’t recommend making armor because the materials for it very expensive.

If you have a free character slot and some tomes of knowledge, try getting to level ~50 and opening champ bags on that character so you can get more mid-level mats that are required for ascended gear.

Drop rates in T2 fractals aren’t great, T3 is better, but you’ll want T4 to have a realistic chance. The catch is you’ll need some ascended armor to get the required AR, so you’ll have to craft a few pieces.

The ley stone armor collection awards an ascended armor chest. Use it to get the coat, as that’s the most expensive piece.

Aside from Teq, triple trouble, wvw and pvp chests also can drop ascended.

It’s flat out faster to craft your ascended armor & weapons than rely on anything rng related. I’d do laurels for amulets and accessories. Your recipes will also cost laurels per item you craft.

If you have the dark matter, and the laurels … nothign should really time gate you and if you have the cash, you can pretty much buy your gear outright (buying damask patches on TP, or the damask + on tp)

If you are looking for weapons too, the elite specialisation collections are the cheapest method, but your weapon types are limited.
