Low FPS W/ New System?
www.Twitch.tv/kreepingg
Are you getting any odd behavior like freezes, stuttering or crashes? A few people have reported issues in the past that turned out to be overclocked CPUs and/or GPUs overheating and throttling back.
I play with an i5, 8GB and GTX660 2GB and I’m getting double what you’re reporting in higher stress situations on high but with frame limiter set to 60 and shadows off.
i am running an i5 3570k, 8GB RAM, and a gtx 460 1GB GPU, and an SSD for OS and guild wars 2, and in pve i get 60 fps, i have disabled shadows, reflections and postprocessing.
is it everywhere in gw2 you get only 20 -25 fps?
have you installed the newest drivers from Nvidia or just the ones coming with the card?
i will check my settings we i get home from work tonight.
Have you put your graphics card in the slot next to the CPU ? Because thats the
PCIe x16 slot.

Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Another suggestion that might(!) help, is to go into msconfig through the “run” interface and disable all non-system processes/applications on start-up, so you’ll boot your computer with only the much-needed processes running, which can save you a lot of CPU.
Not sure if it is of much help to GW2, but I always do this on default when heavily gaming, to minimize the strain on my computer from processes I’m not using.

Let me say that the computer I dub “The family game pc” Has an EVGA variant of your card and runs on SSD, but otherwise is completely inferior to your system in every way, and with max settings it still gets 60+ FPS.
Have you considered seeing if your drivers are up to date, or if there is some bios upgrade for your video card?

This may help but I doubt that it’s the reason he has these really low fps. With his specs he should easily get 60fps.
Your monitor has nothing to do with it.
Have you build the pc on your own? If yes try what Beldin wrote.
Have you installed EVERY driver? (chipsetdriver, etc?) Are they up to date or did you install them from a cd?
Are you hearing your fans speed up when you run the game? Are the temps okay? (check with programs like speccy or speedfan)
Do you have the same problem with other games?
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
