Low fps solved
and if need be ill upload another vid of the pump and the game vs my computer nothing changed but pump
/shrugs
seeing you have 6 cores, you must be using amd
i think your software automatically overclocked your cpu due to the new cooler

well, it says it’s an AMD phenom II X6 1090T.
the first thing i noticed in your video is the low clock frequency. that means, that the cool’n’quiet feature is probably turned on in the BIOS. under load, that processor should be running 3.2GHz, not .77-1.83GHz. which means the default cooler may not have been enough, or that the CPU fan curve wasn’t set properly.
my backup rig’s AMD phenom II x4 965 black edition still runs 20-30 fps on a 1600×1200 lcd monitor @ 3.4 GHz @ mostly medium settings mixed with high. cool’n’quiet is turned off, to prevent the CPU from ever downclocking. (cool’n’quiet feature downclocks the CPU to save power)
either way, it looks like having the cheap Acetek watercooler removes enough heat to allow the system to run at it’s proper frequency, instead of downclocking it.
PS: intel makes several 6-core CPUs… such as the i7 4930k, or the i7-5820k
PS: the remark about the generic (pretty much all the closed-loop, pre-filled watercoolers in a box are built by Acetek) watercooler is meant in fun, since custom water loops are the true form of water cooling ;-)
LOOOOL
i didnt even see taht big word amd
but i7 6 cores have 6 logical cores under HT and only 3 physical cores

What 3 physical cores on i7 6 core; are you speaking off?
Pic below, 3930k 6 Physical Cores and under HT is 12 Logical Cores.
Enthousiast PC’s/ Workstations:
Intel is making 8 core and 10 cores as well,
AMD also makes 8 cores for the enthousiast marked,
Prices are widely apart though.
intel asking US $ 450-1500 dollars / cpu and
AMD asking US $129-270 .
Per clock/core amd delivers about 75% of the performance, but intel has acces to HT allowing for 12-20 threads while AMD still suffers from less FPU units. With the introduction of directx 12 in new games AMD will recover slightly is the expectation, but for below directx12 games intel will reign superior.
WorkStations (High end) and Servers
For the unclockable region both
intel and AMD make CPU’s with 12,16
(max opteron (16 core) sells for US $1200 max 8 per system),
and intel moved on: 18 ,20, 22 and even 24 cores
(intel’s 24 core sells for US $ 6700, max 4 per system),
These CPU’s are meant for server and ultra end workstations ( fancy a 19 inch rack next to your table?) Systems can be coupled to form bigger machines in both cases.
These lines are named Xeon E3,E5 and E7’s processors for Intel and Operon processors for AMD
So PC’s are not limited to 6 or 8 processors anymore, If you have the funds and can drop $ 50000 and can afford the power bill for your PC and the new airconditioning system you could place a nice 96 core Monster with 1 Tb of memory in your house Make a nice stack of HDD’s and you should be good. I doubt you would notice the difference between 980Ti’s and Titans on the final receipt. If you can find a motherboard with PCI-E slots
You could host cloudservices for all ppl in your street/town on your PC AND STILL PLAY GW2… if you wanted to,
Just have someone place a nice glasfiber with 2 or 4 bands of 10 Gbit. lagging out due to congestion would be a real shame
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

i see~ i am mistaken then
im not that well informed of pc cores of more than 4,
@PaxTheGreatOne.9472
amd is making 32 cores for server iirc
anyway, all those cores are pointless for gaming since many games still do not take advantage of multi cores
for server is great due to virtualisation and running tons of kitten
but gaming we rarely use that many cores

I have liquid cooling and an i7 4770k too. At this point it’s better to go for a 2016 graphic card when Nvidia and AMD release them.

I run an i7 with 6 cores, 12 HT. Last time I checked GW2 was running about 40 threads. Don’t know what other games are doing, but GW2 is running on every processor I have !
game runs great now after all this time just installed windows 10 today .. Ill upload new vid of my computer vs gw2 before my new processor gets here
