Decided to come back after 6 months away from game and just start over problem is while I do enjoy soloing I seem to be the only player i’ve seen for last 12 levels. Think I may have run into a whole 2 people in 3 days of playing.

Are there just not that many that play anymore(with new characters) I’m sure at high lvl areas there are people but yeah low lvl just seems like i’m playing a offline rpg at the moment.

Or perhaps it is just my server not sure but says its very high on server load.

The issue is that your server likely is very high populated, but just not in the starter maps.
Experienced players will level up using the champtrain in queensdale (very boring, but more lucrative and faster), so all you meet are people running to living story or going for full map completion AND new players.

Also, the latest lving story instalment is a hit. Looking at my friendslist, bout 75% off the people online is doing that. So cause off that, many people have been putting low level characters aside, adn even world bosses have issues getting a good amount of people.

due to the champtrain etc, Queensdale is still somewhat popular.

See it like this. The living story arc has been building for over a year. This is the final chapter (well the first half of it). When the last harry potter book came out. How many do you think where readying the first, and how many the last?? In a few weeks when the living story has finished I reckon things will return to normal.

Yeah what I had assumed….Guess I will have to force myself to play solo/alone on maps and just try to get exp faster till I get into some populated areas but very slow for me seems slower now then when I first started when game launched but that may have been the newness aspect and playing non stop lol.

If you are interested in the Living Story you could also go do the Lion’s Arch event. It scales you up to level 80 and there are tons of people doing it. Not quite the same as just having people around you while leveling but might break up the monotony.

I started back around August I think and I remember the first server I picked felt quite dead. I ended up deleting my characters (none over 30) and going to Tarnished Coast where I usually see people out in the world…although right now it’s more sparse because of the popularity of the Living Story. You could try guesting to another server to see if more people are around also.

Try out Escape from Lion’s Arch if you can get to the Gerdarran Fields. (South of the Vigil Keep which you can get to by entering Heart of the Mist and going through the old LA-portal.) You’ll get scaled up, you will see plenty of people and if you can tag a bit will get loads of experience. Might be a nice change from the leveling you’ve been doing so far. But ye, low-level maps aren’t too populated, even if there wasn’t a brand new Living Story.
