Hi guys, i am new to the game. From the few days i have been playing, i cant find enough players to play with in my lvl zone ( lvl 20s) most of the group events like Worm and Giant nvr gets done and its kind of boring to grind alone. Chat windows r usually empty. and even if i do join a guild it has like 3 – 4 ppl on ect ect. so i am looking for a world that has good population (mostly low lvls). since i am new, i dont really know which server is for new players. So, if u have any idea or suggestions for me, plz share them. It has to be a American world ofcorse.

currently i am playing in Eredon Terrace.

Thanks.

Try guesting to Tarnished Coast, it’s the unofficial roleplaying server so there are a few more people running the world than most other servers. The sad truth though is that most players are already level 80, and populating the higher zones, so unless you get some friends or guildmates to level alts along with you it’s gonna be a lonely journey.

There isn’t a specific server for new players and even if you could find one with a lot of low level people that wouldn’t really be a solution because they’d all be levelling at different speeds to you so either they would leave you behind or you would out-level them. And then you’d have to switch later to do higher level content.

The best option is to find a highly populated server with a lot of people who do open-world PvE. Most of them will be a higher level than you but the down-scalling system means you can play in any area at or below your level so you’ll often see people in areas they’re technically too high level for doing events, or doing hearts and things for map completion.

I can’t recommend any specific servers because I’m on the EU ones and have only played on a few of those. But I do recommend you guest to a few different servers to find one you like before you transfer so that you know you’ll like it and only have to transfer once. When you’re guesting you can do everything you normally would, except play WvW.

When/if you do want to transfer you have 2 options:
1. Delete all your characters and you can transfer for free.
2. Pay a fee in gems (which means either real money, in-game money or a combination) to transfer.

Which one you do is up to you. If you do it soon and only have a low level character and not much gold it might be better to delete them and transfer for free. (If you do that then I recommend putting everything you want to keep into the bank, selling everything else you can and putting the money into the bank too because that won’t be deleted.)

Alternatively depending on how much money you have in real life you might not mind paying the fee with cash and saving your progress.

I play on tarnished coast, dont listen to those guys above, most of maps are empty on every server. You will find people only in places where you can make money …

Either my server (Desolation) is a major exception then, or people have different definitions of empty. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a zone where I didn’t see at least a few other people around.

Admittedly in some of them you might only see 4 or 5 people in the same area as you, but if you start a conversation in map chat or call out an event, especially a world boss or other popular one, you’ll find there are a lot of people about.

Oh, time zone is also a factor. Some American servers are primarily used by Oceanic/Australasian players so they have different peak times and if you’re in the US you might well be playing when everyone else is asleep. This is another reason it’s a good idea to guest before transferring to a server.
